Haven't been on to check the market, but it they're 400dmg (at std level), they're similar in dmg to regular nades, making them superior.
No reason to use any grenade other than the fused locus.
Agreed, the damage or AoE needs to be significantly less than grenades that you have to cook or else it makes other grenades basically pointless.
Bad move CCP.
By the way, remember when grenades had like a second and a half fuse time and everyone was using them all the time instead of their main weapon? How is this going to be any different? |

It would be better if these contact grenades blew up when they are touched by the user then they would be balenced. Instant suicide, that would be awesome.
Well LAVs TARs and now contact grenades. Why doesn't CCP put in a Automatic sidearm that shoots grenades without bullet drop that has no PG/CPU/Skill point requirements that instantly kill any vehicles that aren't LAVs in one shot and gives the user a 1000 point shield boost... ...and unlimited ammo. There that's a proper weapon to add to the game. |

This... may make me put down the game until its fixed. Ill wait until I try them tomorrow in the hot fix. But...in theory, this sounds like it will 100% break the game. Nano hive + contact nade spam... not fun. Maybe MAYBE if the range on it is like 2.0 or less... |

Definitely going to be a lot of nade spam for sure, not sure what tier CCP will place it in or if there will be higher damage ones available, but this will be interesting.
I am not sure if I will use them or not, I have really honed my skills at cooking M1's and fused will have some disadvantages over being able to cook (like having it blow mid-air for somebody on a ledge/tabletop or something). Not to mention the fused will likely be limited to the basic damage rate (could you imagine a fused core ... oh my). |

What is the ******* point of a scout if every ******* class can have impact grenades to kill us the second we get in effective range???? I mean I'm already getting blown apart in CQC by assault rifles, why not make the most gimped class even harder to play then it already is. Ugh! I'm so frustrated with this game!
Also, you nerfed RE because it was being used the way an impact grenade was. Then you introduce real impact grenades... Really???!!! |

I will enjoy this as a heavy, I get the drop on someone and they just use these grenades on me..... I feel real bad for scouts who will die instantly to these after sneaking up on someone. Dumbest weapon added so far ccp. But they do love the assault class who these will benefit the most. |

Keep the grenades in game, as they are an interesting variant, but adjust their starts so they don't completely obviate the standerd cooking grenades. Cook grenades have a very nice Risk/Reward system going on that we want to keep in the forefront.
I'd suggest substantially decreasing both the explosion radius and damage of contact grenades. Make them great for softening up/finishing off an enemy, but not the insta-kill they presently are.
I'm concerned that even with that though, they may still be too powerful vs scouts. Scouts are quick though, ideally we'd be able to see the contact grenade coming and out maneuver it. But we'd have to wait and see if that turns out to be the case in game.
Also a warning, don't think that making these more expensive then regular grenades will balance them. If an item costs 20,000 ISK but can skillessly kill a proto in one hit, everyone will still field it. |

Shotgun scout is literally my favorite way to play this game.
Unfortunately. It's a ******* mess right now, scouts are in a horrible place overall, even the really good ones.
After a year of watching CCP "balance" their game, I can say with absolute confidence that they either have no clue what they're doing, or they just like to watch us flail around trying to keep up with them :/

I've been wanting Fused Locus grenades for quite some time. That being said, they are not balanced properly. They ought to do less damage and have less of a blast radius to balance out the fact it requires no skill to use. They could alow be only proto-level, and carry reduced numbers of grenades, like one or two. I'm sure that there are even more ways to balance them. |
