I made this heavy alt recently and ended up in academy despite having a 7mil SP alt and obviously understood the game perfectly well. Despite the fact that I moved at the speed of a snail and could barely move around fast enough to find enemies before my team-mates killed them, I had 30+ K/DRs in every game I played until I made the WP to get out, and since Skirmish still doesn't effectively record stats, it took me a lot of games to get out of academy.
I think academy should only apply to the first character made on a PSN profile, so that you don't have seasoned vets massacring the poor lemmings. |

Unfortunately, alternate PSNs are already so common as to make a PSN-based fix not so useful.
IMO, if you go anything like 30/0, you automatically graduate the Academy, and from there the instant battle will ideally have matchmaking capable of preventing you from going up against people with 10m SP. Academy seems to be the place where CCP make sure players understand what the controls do. Otherwise the WP requirement would be higher. Once you seem to understand how to shoot people, it should be up to matchmaking in regular instants to place you properly.

I agree, and keep taking the opportunity to point out that if you put a limit on the account (ignoring respecs) you wouldn't have respec'd beta era alts with tons of SP being sent back through the academy. |

I don't talk to many others in betamax but everyone I know in betamax seem like they don't care about what they're doing. |
