This is the thread I have been fighting the good fight.
A CCP person has come in there asking for any kind of video of the aim lag or whatever it is that is going on right now. If any of you guys could play a few hours and montage style the gun fights to help the cause and CCP out as well make Dust a better game one step at a time starting with this problem. I would do it myself but I am not recording currently and was wandering if any record users out here can please record the problem and post it in that thread ^^^ So CCP can know what the problem is exactly.
For those who are unaware there is some kind of aim lag or something going around every since Uprising. In Chrome You could shoot people directly at their body to deal dmg. Of course sometimes there is lag and poor hit detection but even than you got a indicator you were hitting them (shield would splatter blue). I am trying to show CCP that currently in this build it's not about shooting the enemy where you see them on the screen, you have to kinda shoot ahead of the direction they move while they are sprinting, jumping, or strafing. If somebody is fast and strafing back and forth you are basically just spraying and praying hoping to hit their real body that you cannot see. If they are jumping or sprinting left to right you have to lead way ahead of the body you are shooting at.
The only times the shooting works properly is when enemies are moving towards or away from you in a straight line, when they are standing still, or if they are just walking in a straight direction slowly while in aim you can simply walk with them while in aim and line them up using the left analog stick.
IF possible while you are recording to catch this on video for CCP use a controller and a fully automatic AR I suppose the tac would work too but the fully automatic would prob catch it better. Not sure if HMG and SMG would work in catching the evidence since those two guns shoot so fast it would be hard to show the lag cause you will be hitting them a lot easier due to rapid fire. |

2nd time we found him because we were skeptical about it we run up to him with a noobtube and my tac with contact grenades and nothing again we both flee away from him because it was a lose situation then we both proceeded to back out of the game.

I will try my best to group with you but the sooner you can get some evidence please post it in that thread that is posted up top or here and I will post it and let them know the video came from you. I really wanna get this problem fixed and I wanna help CCP and could use some help from as much Dust community as I can. |

+1. I literally crept up and stood less than 2 m BEHIND an enemy and unloaded my SCR into the back of his head. Nothing. He still stood still, so I decided to whip out my breach pistol. Again...nothing. Figured he lost connection, so I said whatevs. Then, he turns around and opens fire and sends me to heaven. I'm pretty sure I had just had a wrf moment. |

They managed to fix the aiming itself but the hit detection could be better - scouts can strafe without taking dmg. And before anyone calls me a noob and tells me to get good - when was the last time in chromosome when you could survive a shootout with 6 people in a millita scout? |

I played a bit yesterday and the new patch did not fix the aiming. You still have to shoot way ahead of where the enemy is moving and the faster they are the harder it is to score hits. Lot's of good players are running Scout now for the already base speed on top of tht with speed mods it's devastating trying to hit one strafing. |

Again, it's not the hit detection. You really aren't hitting them, sure you are shooting at their body or so you think but their body is really ahead of where it is on the tv you just can't see it. |

Basically your saying, you shot him but he didnt die, and you somehow gave him 4 seconds to prime and throw a grenade to kill both of you, without seeing that comming ?
What were you doing those 4 seconds ??? a better question, what were you 2 doing so close to one another to get killed by the same grenade ?
I do believe in lag & hitbox issues and the crappy aiming we got now btw, but the story attached does not come over so well :p |

Thank you to the few of you that have already stepped in showing support and for those who will hopefully support in the future I will check back on this thread a little later today remember CCP wants video recording on the lag in aim. I will also seek out recorders in my corp to aid as well but the more videos the better. You can either post them in the thread I posted at top or can post them here and I will make sure they get in the thread for CCP to see. |

I've been putting off getting a capture card/box. But this is a good enough cause to give that decision all the rationalization it needs.
The DS3 aiming is markedly improved from Uprising's release(not AAA yet, but closer).
The lag is still an issue. |

I think the core issue with hit detection is at its most prevalent when fighting a player from a different region. I don't think its hit detection but rather server lag that leads the shooter to believe the enemy is in 1 spot where they are shooting, but in reality they are not. They are 3 feet to the left or right. This is why this issue is most noticeable when in a battle strafing with the enemy.
I did notice that whatever was implemented yesterday that the lag between regional players was significantly improved. Pc matches were at the VERY least playable when given a low ping, compared to the last week where it was literally unbearable.
I have yet to play a PC match since yesterday with both teams from the same region so I cannot comment but Im going to assume that's improved significantly as well.
I hope we can get some video evidence with some big bright letters on the screen so no one can mistake whats actually happening in game |

oh no its a true story he wasnt taking any damage we also both thought he was disconnected but this fool turns around and chucks a grenade at us. we stood there because we thought he wouldnt be able to kill us either but obviously not he ended up winning. it may not make sence to you but it did happen and its been happening alot this build. also with the shooting infront of them to actually hit them while they are running is true as well. never happend to me but i have heard people mention this issue |

the 480p thing is just too weird. It works, Dust is a PS3 game. It shouldn't need to be played as a PS2 game to work. |

The aiming is Jacked, Its hard to explain but you did GJ. I lost count how many guys ive killed when my crosshairs were nowhere near my target. The range nerf and crappy aiming are killing this game. |
