Everyone knows about the nanite injector situation. It's completely broken. I don't know anybody that is still using them.
This in conjunction with the equipment selection wheel being glitchy has turned me into a full blown assault logi.
I've stopped advertising myself as a logi and I used to love that role.
The equipment selection wheel and weapon selection wheel are supposed to be fixed, but the nanite injector needs to go back to the way it was in Chromosome. Lots of people throw that around, but this is really a case of fixing something that wasn't broken. It really appears the number one priority here was to avoid screwing up KDR due to revive farmers in pub matches (I could be wrong, but it seems to be a consensus among many players I talk to).
With PC clones are more valuable than ever. I'd guess 20% of the clones lost in PC battles are due to the lack of nanite injectors in the field right now and that is VERY conservative in my opinion. If you consider my conservative number this could be costing an attacker or defender who reinforced with a clone pack at least 16 million ISK per battle.
I'd be interested in seeing the percentage of players that are strictly shield tanking right now as well. It appears to be rampant. Shield tanking and the problems that heavy players foresaw in Uprising led to many of them specing out of heavy suits thus rendering the repair tool less important. Heavies seem to be making a comeback and we may see more after the optional respec so the repair tool may make a comeback.
All in all the logi role isn't what it used to be. Perhaps it is because I'm "failing to adapt" or maybe it's because the logi suits are so attractive to build an assault role around. Either way, it seems like something that needs to be discussed.

I'm fully aware of what a logi is. Although I feel like a logi has to be a killer if the team he's playing on is going to be worth a damn.
A logi used to be able to truly help in a battle. The tools they used to do so aren't as effective as they were. I don't think that was intentional. I wanted to start a discussion to get feedback from other logis to see if they feel as I do that the role has been diminished. |

I might be repecing into a different role due to my logi being less than it was before. Right now he is a Min stacked with hacking mods. Granted he hacks like it's nothing but all the gear stuff seems limited. I get more use from my repair tool randomly topping off a squad mate than a 50% chance revive. |

Good post! I feel your pain. The Nanite injector is ridiculous, however I have noticed that it is a little better then when uprising was first released. It is rather frustrating being the only merc in New Eden carrying an injector, I never get revived and am constantly losing suits.
My biggest gripe right now is the amount of time I sped trying to select my equipment from the equipment wheel. I spend so much time trying to select my rep tool that my fellow merc dies or passively heals to full health before I can have my tool in hand. Not to mention all the times I've accidentally shot mercs thinking I have selected my rep tool. I wish this problem was a priority to CCP but it just seems to be constantly neglected.

I feel your pain too. A thankless job made even more difficult makes it harder to keep doing it. I would suggest sticking with it though. All these problems will be fixed before CCP moves on to new content. As they said moving to internet opened up problems they didn't know were there. On a closed system everything worked great and they were really excited to get it out to us. Incorporating lag (incoming and outgoing) and a few other factors really messed up the game.
But if that just suck, go Logissault for a while, take a break, and have some fun. If you are not having fun then of course this isn't the game to be playing. So, make it fun in whatever way you have to - even if that means some team killing for Lulz with an LAV. =p

i agree, equipment needs to be looked at really as a whole, nanite injectors need alittle bit more range and they need to start actually working, im tired of dancing around dead bodies waiting to get sniped because i cant revive this guy right at my feet, and rep tools need to rep shields at a very very slow rate so i can atleast kind of help shield tankers, and dont you dare tell me that there should be a whole diferent rep tool for shields, aint nobody got time for that, im not choosing or carrying both, and for nano hives i have a crazy idea that all of you are going to hate for dumb reasons, instead of tosing the nano hive down, hold it and shoot a cluster of nanites that will swarm around the spot you shot them at, they will stay in that cloud and function how they do now, except they will deplete faster than nanohives do now, and after a cool down another swarm would be ready to fire, that way technically less effective short term, i can actualy keep my team resupplied and not be so damn stingy

I shot one of my dude's in the face during a PC battle against Grupo thinking I had my repair tool. A Freedom MD round to the face. He vaporized and he wasn't happy.
The heavies getting buffed is a big help to logis. I think more guys will go back to it whenever the respec happens.
If we start getting WP for vehicle repair and installations it will help too. |

yea your right, no body likes those games, especialy not like...idk... most people, and the ammo resupply system in this game is clearly perfect, i mean logis find it so usefull that they skill up their skill with nano hives all the way all the time, everyone does that, because they are so worth it, who wouldnt put so much effort into getting a box to toss on the floor while it gets smashed by a flux grenade or eaten up by a crowd in seconds and now totally out of usefull ness, id give up and equipment slot for that any day |

As for nanohives....
Why aren't they restocked when you visit a supply depot or other nanohives? Remote explosives and proximity mines get restocked from depots and they use an equipment slot just like hives do. I don't get it lol maybe they can impliment that into the game soon. |

its an equipment that really needs to be reliable for it to have any use, plenty of times i can remember reviving someone that immediatly saved my life, and i can think theres probably even more times where that could have hapened but the tool didnt work right |

From my experience, you cant pick up a single person who is ran over by LAV's, which makes them so much more cheesy IMO.
Anyways, The revive system is so damn broken at the moment, it's unbelievable. I can only revive someone 25% after searching for like 10 seconds to find the exact point where i need to stand, then it doesn't even work. Whats the point of running a needle then? Big ol CPU/PG drain that doesn't work.
Id suggest you make the area of use for the needle wider. Make a Nano-spray similar to the MAG medkit tool. Anyway to make it work!
Otherwise OP is right, there is barely any support role for logi's. Im limited to planting Drop uplinks, nanos, repping, and using an active scanner.
Not all are needed as much as the revive mechanic, IMO. |

And the OP (and others in the thread) have rightly pointed out that the selection wheel, especially for KB/M users, is right at the edge of being useless.
Further, it is worth mentioning that the SP rewards for many useful activities simply don't make them worth doing.
Helping out the team is one thing. Scanning, re-hacking a partially taken null cannon, repairing a vehicle are a different thing all together. In an FPS where WPs are the way to advance there's only so much taking-one-for-the-team a character can do before they start to fall behind and get discouraged.
Here are some alternatives based on logistics drop suits that I've heard mentioned. - Electronic warfare -- jamming comms, suppressing scanning and sensors
- Localized invisibility and shield bubbles
Not short term I'm sure but with proper skill point compensation worth while.
And that's the key: logis have to be compensated in skill points for the class of actions that define their class. Solutions have to be found so the SP system isn't abused -- but if the no-compensation situation persists fewer and fewer people will step up to be logis. |

i think poersonaly that being a logi should be more about their equipment than anything, but as it is now, skilling up into a logi suit already takes some time for a new player, once they get the suit they are gona have garbage equipment so they are going to want to skill up their equipment, but then they also have to skill up into everything an assault has to skill into or they are gona get killed to easily, and in the end they arent getting enough reward so they automatically fall behind, its just too much, they need to make skilling into logi suits easier or equipment easier and have someway of them being able to pay for all the extra equipment needed for their job, and for christ sakes make nano hives more dependable and useful, i wana be who my sqaud gets ammo from, not the supply depo

The base stats of a logi suit are vastly inferior to its other racial counterparts at the cost of versatility. Because they're easy to customize compared to, in this case, an assault, logis give the impression of being better assaults because they have the potential for better survivability. But survivability isn't everything and with support centered racial bonuses compared to more combat oriented bonuses and better overall stats, an assault will always outclass a logistics in 1v1. Even the Caldari suit's racial bonus which seems OP puts them at a huge disadvantage because the have next to nothing for armor and a few SR rounds or a flux grenade will put them out of commission. Customization is not a substitute for effectiveness in a specific and whatever role a logi tries to mimic will always be surpassed by that specific role. Sadly, one of their intended roles has been diminished due to flawed programming. |

I know I am a newb here but m y biggest gripe with the logi suits are the lack of shield and available defense. Mabye it is my team just not defending me or I suck, my average K/D with logi is 0.5 or lower.. This being said, I find myself dying a lot trying to revive dead team mates with the injector which seems to be a crap shoot. 50% is a generous statistic for using it. Regardless, I still find myself running out to help team mates only to be shot in the back as the fight has shifted elsewhere. I am very frustrated with the logi class as there are way to many people just running and gunning. Players typically do not appreciate the uplinks, nannohives, repair tools or injectors that are used rarely. I think the biggest reason that this game has little value on logi class is because of the reward for killing opponents. K/D ratio's are important to players and everyone wants to have the most kills, getting triage and revive points just don't feel as rewarding as putting a red player down in the dirt. |

If I were you I'd respec, stick with the suit but outfit it as though you are assault. Go as far into nanocircuitry as possible for the nanohives and L2 uplinks. Leave it at that as far as equipment goes until they fix it.

Thank you for the advice, I think you are right but I really feel I can help out the battle as a logi than as a shooter. Too many people out there are new to squad play and just run around solo blasting away.
Also, the underline problem in this game is the rewards system, I still feel that there is too much emphasis on running down players with LAV's and shooting people with Tac AR's. Unless the game is ambush, shouldn't people be focusing on controlling points? |

In a more organized corp battle scenario, yes, squads will care a little more about controlling points instead of the ring around the rosy you see in pubs. K/D sadly does seem to reign supreme in a lot of folks minds, but topping the leader boards as a logi with a 1-4 or 0-3 score feels just as good as going 20-0. As a logi, when you first start out, you're going to die a lot. Like, really a lot. It has taken me almost the entire open beta to get back to a 1-1 KDR. My first month was just me dying basically. Stick with the logi roll if you really want to be one. It's not a glamorous life, but it's a friggin' sweet one once you get the hang of it!
