I am inclined to agree that the LAV lulz-spamming is not in-line with CCP's stated vision or even previous policies. As such, I will use this post to shamelessly link to a thread I made about certain changes that I think would really benefit the LAV and bring it into the role it was intended for.
Removing the free LAVs is part of it. |

Because people tend to abuse of LAVs, they are easy to drive, they now have a ton of HP and they are fast.
I'm not for removing them all.
The buff on STD is welcome, the buff on MLT free LAV is not.
We should have free MLT tanks to balance the game. |

The free Lavs are meant to be used as muder taxis vs proto users so there is balance and flow, if you don't like it spam av nades they usually do the trick. |

Yep, when the opposing team are fielding full prototype suits, I do so enjoy running right into their group with a free LAV and killing a few of them for $$$. Its a balance for the imbalance between Prototype Suits and the lower grades. Eat my grill! |

I'm all for a free LAV. It helps get the battle started faster, especially on large maps.
I think the freebies, however, should be basically made of tissue paper. And collisions with mercs and solid objects should cause serious damage to the free LAV. |

My solution: The free LAVs should just be 20-30 copies that depletes, that way you can still do all the vehicular mayhem you do now, except now you have to be slightly more careful with them |

Signed. Open beta was a demolition derby until peeps trained AV grenades. Tk'ing free LAVs with a single advanced nade kept them from going wild. |

Someone thought it would be a great idea to buff HP of the free ones.
AV nades seem to be pretty hard hitting for tanks despite their cost, and vice versia not so much nades vs free LAV |

For the record I am mainly a shotgun scout that have some AV ability, I will never be on your grill. Also, your reading comprehension is flawed, I have never once said that AVs should be free, I have merely stated that the LAVs should not (which they shouldn't). The LAV's main purpose (at least the militia ones) is to be a quick way for you to get around the battlefield quickly, having 30 or so copies would still makes this viable in the long run while curbing more reckless behaviors like ramming your free LAV into a 2 mil+ ISK HAV. Using your LAVs to ram a HAV with is a very viable strategy, but I just think that you shouldn't be able to do it without consequence (other than those 15 or so seconds you have to wait for a new one to spawn). |

At first I thought giving you a free vehicle was a great idea, but now not so much. If you really want to get a faster start then buy your own militia LAVs. It's not even a waste anymore since there is a recall feature now. |

Remove MLT LAVS completely and there will be a lot less of them. If someone wants a murder taxi, they should have to invest in it. |

The problem stems from LAVs getting a hp buff and AV nades getting a nerf. They mostly suck now and it takes 2 grenades that are perfectly on target to kill one starter LAV, meaning that if your aim is perfect you can only ever kill one LAV without a nanohive. Combine this with the fact nanohives took a huge nerf then ambush becomes GÇ£Murder Taxi ArenaGÇ¥. |

- they are useful to move across the map
- you have to be skilled to invest someone
- more funny than a LAV
- they should have 2 seats, the passenger should be allowed to fire with his sidearm (shooting with a proto forge gun in the backseat would be OP)

They're eventually bringing in Jet Bikes, which would be dirt bikes, but better. I am in support of free weak dirt bikes for everyone. I know I'd be calling in vehicles a hell of a lot more. |

spend your SP wisely, don't blame proto bears if they kills you, one day you will be one of them.
Spamming free LAV is a boring noob tactic.
Suggestion: read sun-tzu -- the art of war, constrict the enemy to do what you want is a tactical key, annoy the enemy with these LAV is a key to ruin the game experience (just like full sniper squads). |
