This is becoming a wide spread stupidity. Because "they" cannot run fast enough, they destroy our own turrets!
My Questions:
1: Why when the turrets is still uncontested, can someone be able to destroy it?
2: Are these people getting points for destroying yellow turrets? Or is it just so other cannot get points?
I know, it takes time to polish a MMO Game or any games for that matter, you can predict an A.I., you cannot predict (stupid) human behaviors! :)

You get more points for destroying it than capturing it. It will get destroyed anyways as they always do. |

People destroy them both for the free points, and because installations can be trouble for vehicle pilots if not destroyed.
But mostly the free points. |

If you have a defend order on you and hack a turret, you get 60 points.
If I am in a tank, or have a forge gun and a defend order, I get 120 points for the squad. Officer gets 20? points for commission.
If I am in a tank with a defend order on, with two passengers who both can hit the turret as well it works out sommething like this:
Me: Installation destroyed 120 pts Gunner one Kill assist 30, Vehicle kill assist 42 Gunner two gets the same.
So that becomes 264 points, plus what ever the SL gets for commission.
So tell me why we as a squad should give up 10% of a OB just so you can get 50 or 60 points?
Add in the fact that if I let blues cap a turret, there will be a time when I am coming around a corner, already damaged, waiting on an armor repair when I will get a surprising turret firing on me. Better to drop them all just to be sure.
Tankers never depend on blues to think about tanks, that is why we don't give you the option of screwing us over. We kill all the turrets.
Heck I don't leave supply depots unless my team specifically asks for them.

Perhaps people destroying installations while Allies are close should cause massive damage those allies and always kill them and as a result give the person destroying those installations a 100 pt bonus for destroying the installation but negate 200 points for every Ally killed. That might discourage players from destroying installations early on. |

I say working as intended. There are legitimate tactical reasons to destroy a turret before either side has claimed it. I could see an argument for reducing the WP payout, though. |

I kill them because for some reason, nobody ever rehacks them. therefore I won't be able to go around corners when being shot. That's a bad thing. |

If you pay attention those turrets are facing our spawns. If the people who hack them would watch them it would be safer later in a match. Have you tried running across a feild with enemies manning "our" turrets?
If our side hacks them the enemy can destroy them. You may get 50 points but the enemy is getting 100 for destroying them. If you rush hack and stop one of our forge gunners from destroying them, you are actually giving the enemy an easy kill. They can pop it from across the map with a swarm launcher.
Tip: if you see a turret taking damage fire a couple shots into it so you can get some assist points.
In the last build CRUs were mismanaged. Blueberries frequently lost the game for us by hacking a CRU. it would devolve into a spawn camping festival. The were not smart enough to spawn elsewhere (by pressing square), and too greedy to pass up the 50 points you get for hacking it.
Vehicles: DESTROY THEM. you get no points for hacking them. If the vehicle makes it the entire round your enemy loses nothing and you gain nothing. |

If you blues would capture and defend turrets, the vehicle operators might stop destroying them, but you don't. You take your hack points and move on, leaving the turret for a red to hack later and giving some vehicle operator a nasty surprise.
Until you are serious about defending the turrets, I will destroy every single one I can, I've lost too many tanks to turrets that used to be blue. |

I fly a dropship. If I let a blueberry hack a neutral turret and the reds come and take it, I might lose 1.3M ISK on my next pass through that area. On the other hand, I'm generally aware of all vehicles on the map and am capable of taking them out on my own without the help of installations. As such, I view turrets as more harm than good, even if they're on my side. The potential for them to kill me is scarier than the reward of them possibly killing an enemy. So, they must die. |

Besides all the good points mentioned above, most installations are in really useless positions anyway and don't really help anyone except in one or two maps but get quickly killed by enemies with any sense anyway.
Until we get well placed turrets which will have some way of defending themselves against swarms or forges from across the map, most installations are pretty much useless. |

Well besides the fact that you get 100 points for destroying them opposed to 50 points for hacking them, they can often be more trouble then they're worth. Sure it may go to your team no, but it likely will fall to the enemy at some point. And then what? Run around the corner and get shot up? Or lose one of your expensive vehicles? Yeah no thanks. I can do just fine without the turret, so it serves me little benefit. |

1. Because we live in new eden, destruction is the driving force of the economy...it must be destroyed.
2. 120 wp per turret destroyed by my squad members. Also the satisfaction of knowing that if you hack it once and no one else hacks it you only get 50 wp. If they do hack it then they use it against me. If I am a gunner in a turret I am a stationary target. If I don't destroy it the other side will because they know all this already.
I believe I have explained my rampant destruction, now can you please explain to me why you don't? Are you farming with your corp mates on the red side? Can we have FF in pub matches to prevent farmers from planting crops? |

as PC gets ironed out and we start needing to place those instillations ourselves.... you'll learn that it's better to only have to place those damned things once.
think of it an interesting way as you want to take over an area, and they already have a minor amount ofdefences that you could use if you took over.
now, think of the isk your corporation could save by instead of flad out wrecking the turrets, but taking over some of them and destroying the extra... that way you wouldn't have to replace every single one of them
as for the WP things... i think you should only get WP for destroying comfirmed enemy turrets

I am completely okay with this proposition. You should have the option of denying the enemy valuable assets in destroying unclaimed installations, but it should not grant you WP in that you are also denying them to your team, even if you feel you will be better off without them.
Red Installation: WP for destruction or Hacking Yellow Installation: WP for hacking, none for destruction Blue Instllation: Well this is obvious. |

Yelow turrets become red. Blue turrets become red. Red turrets are red. Therefore, all turrets are red and must die because they will kill you if you don't kill them first. |

So, by reading all your posts, then why bother having turrets in the first place?
I hack turrets, I use turrets and I destroy RED turrets. That is how the game was design to be played.
I just think it is "Unwise" to have the option to destroy your own structures. Its easy ISK and SP.....

Very few turrets are in an actual position to kill other turrets. Most of the time confused blueberries just end up firing them at the MCC thinking they can damage it somehow. |

Turrets are a liability to all tank drivers, and they end up getting hacked during the most inconvenient moments. It's best to destroy them as quickly as possible. It's always my Gäû1 priority when driving tanks (or when flying dropships) |

I take it you haven't ever flown a dropship. Lets just say, if it was the choice of letting said uncontested turret live to be captured by out team, there is always the chance of the opponent coming from behind and rehacking it and using my ship as target practice. I choose blowing them up first. |

As a tanker, i destroy any installation that are within/close to the enemy red line, regardless of if it is is a weapon installation, CRU, or Supply Depot. Anything else i will leave for a few minutes, and destroy if it has not yet been hacked by our side. The instant ANYTHING, ANYWHERE is hacked and turns red, all bets are off. |
