Dude... I'm so smart. I actually quite like that. It allows for entry level followed by specialisation. As much as I would hate for my locus grenades to get an initial nerf, the idea is good. I could support this idea too. Set it up so that Grenadier is just an SP sink skill (or make it work like Demo does for Explosives) and then have each type have its own skill. If they did this though, the multiplier should be reduced to compensate for the SP sink of Grenadier. This solution is better than the one I suggested. +1 to you good sir.

I'm not a tanker, but I suspended my Tryhard skill progression to co-specialize in at minimum advanced AV. The bottom line on why Uprising feels better than Chromosome (with the exception of starter clown cars) is that tanks don't pubstomp every damn match anymore. Good tankers still dominate, and scrubs go down as flaming wrecks. It's kind of refreshing to see all the QQ about TARs that used to be reserved for tanks.
Balancing is an ongoing and delicate job, but all the crying about nerfing AV nades is weak. People shouldn't be able to sustain dedicated upper tier tanking solo, in battle or ISK wise. If your tank is surrounded by infantry with AV nades you're doing it wrong.

I wouldn't mind a split in grenade skills, it would allow grenades to gain different benifits such as blast radius, seek range, or EMP strength ect ect. |

Very true, regarding all points, which is why I included the disclaimer about ratios. On the other hand, I feel that having FG's use the same number of rounds to take out pretty much anything as the number of AV nades tossed at it (don't ask about meta levels, can't really remember) is a bit unbalanced. Why is dedicated AV less powerful against the thing it's countering than an all-round suit?
That's more of a general AV balance complaint rather than any specific. For example, I've seen the free LAV take three grenades before blowing up, whereas six of the same were used to blow up a militia HAV. The above would suggest that a logi LAV would take the same effort to blow up as the militia HAV. The balance doesn't seem quite right to me.
So, again, more of a general AV/vehicle balance, rather than specifics. |
