Thank you for your responses, more people need to get involved on this conversation, especially CCP. Please try to remain on topic though.
I would also like to make a point that there really is no way of leveling the playing field between the mouse and controller. In almost every instance a well-seasoned veteran mouse player will have more precise aiming than a controller user, this is simply a fact. It's how both peripherals are designed and how we use them that makes each unique. There are also a lot of very good controller users that will frequently and consistently out-gun mouse users. It really does all come down to skill at the end of the day.
You can't really truly "balance" the two unless you severely cripple the mouse to the point that it becomes unusable, which seems to be what has happened here. If this was intended to try to level the playing field, instead of a supposed "bug" than they screwed up. As stated in the OP the game has to feel good in order to be truly enjoyable, especially by a more casual audience.
I'm all fine for turn speed caps for different suits though. Scouts should turn the fastest, then assault, then logistics, then heavy. I and many others don't even use really high sensitivity in the first place, I have to pick up my mouse just to do a 180 degree turn. I just like the feeling of it more, as I have more experience with it. The same way controller fans feel about their chosen device. But as of now, my preferred input method is broken.
Additionally, don't even start on "people should just learn how to use a controller" or "the mouse shouldn't even be in the game, this is a console" take note that you can buy both a mouse and keyboard combined for roughly $20. A new Dual Shock 3 will cost you upwards of $50 and beyond. Playing with a keyboard and mouse for Dust is not only cheaper, but is overall the better peripheral. More people should be using it instead of complaining, they just need to fix it and make it work properly. |

TBH I haven't really found the KB/M combo to be that much of an issue as a sniper - Locate Target>Zoom in > Head shot. No issues at all. And that's with a Dell keyboard and Lenovo mouse from the huge stockpile at work. |

ADS is slow as molasses. I am a decent player on other shooters but tracking targets with this is a pain. when you go back to try and hip fire, it goes all over the place.
PS: I use a DS3. |

This game went from looking bad yet playing good to looking good and playing like ****. That female scout's ass looks good under the war barge's dynamic lighting, but what's the point if I can't shoot the damn redberry in front of me? |

It was smooth, the aiming and hit detection was great, and look how well it did. One of the most successful competitive shooters ever, with a huge audience to this day.
You silly goose!
Your expectations are way to high comparing this LOL PS3 Halo wannabe game to one of the best ever competitive shooters we will ever see.
This game will never be anything close to a competitive shooters .
You are getting what we all payed for, a F2P broken game that is looking to make $ from LOL COD kids who like bright & shinny things.
I am going on record right now that we will never ever see DUST in any major competitive shooter tournaments, ever!

If they don't get held to a high standard then they will simply do "good enough" just to get by. People need to stay biting at CCP's ankles otherwise they'll get too relaxed swimming in their pool filled with gold coins laughing maniacally like Scrooge McDuck. |

Aiming with a mouse in Chromosome was much better, I had zero complaints about it then. |
