LAV's in terms of HP and mechanics are fine. No more of that 1 standard AV bullshit, but Exo will still OHK most standard ones.
However, the massive problem is their ability to run people over. Last I checked, there was a turret on it for a reason.
Don't remove this ability, but "nerf" it. It needs to take more than 2 km/h to run a person over, increase the speed that kills people. Basically anything but top or close to top speed only damages people, but if the LAV is travelling pretty fast, it should definitely crush people.
And bring back the dashboard bodies, where running people over had you slowed down until the body "decomposed". |

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. I think LAVs should take varying amounts of meaningful damage from light, medium, and heavy frames. Running over 10+ battle ready dropsuits should have your LAV reduced to a smoking heap. |

The obvious solution would be a healthy dose of proximity mines. Unfortunately the basic proxy mine can barely even take out a starter LAV anymore. |

I agree heavies should do damage to the LAV, not to sure about light suits and medium suits. |

Well heavies would be the only ones that did substantial. Maybe med could be 25% of what hitting a heavy would cause and light 10%. Not a lot but more than hitting air, light and med suits are still a hard object. |

Should do damage based on how many hitpoints the person had, not their Suit Type.
Complex Armor Plating increases mass, increased mass is harder to move - should do more damage to the oncoming LAV.
Heavy with 1000+EHP? LAV should take 1000+ damage. You don't hit a deer and go on to hit the rest of the herd.
And don't you dare pull the "real life" argument - physics matters in a SCIENCE FICTION game. |

It's still affected by physics, dude. You can't sit here and tell me that a vehicle, even a science fiction vehicle, moving at 90km/h will not -slow down and take damage- when it hits hundreds of pounds of flesh, bone and armor. |

I agree, I think it should. I was just pointing out a LAV is not the same as what typically hits deer. |

I'm fine with physics. Hitting a Shield tanked suit with 1/25th the mass of a LAV should slow it down by 1/25th of its speed.
An armor tanked heavy with 1//5th the mass of a LAV should reduce the speed after collision by 1/5th of its speed.
It's also fine to require a fatal amount of energy transfer. Something along the lines of 20mph on the open road and less if you are being crushed against a hard surface such as a wall. |

Last I checked more people die each year to vehicular collisions than all forms of gunshots. This is actually one thing that CCP got right. What I would like to see is a special murder taxi version with spikes mounted on the front that would do additional damage on impact. It could even replace the turret. Heck, CCP could also offer blades that extend out from the sides to provide additional killing width. I'd be willing to skill back into vehicles for that. |

You should drive your car into a light post and see if it keeps going, confirm these studies. |

Are you confusing the physics of elastic collisions between non-fixed objects with an elastic collision between one fixed and one non-fixed object, or are you just trolling? |
