I would give this thread a thousand likes if I could. I havn't noticed a single framerate drop at all since changing it!
Be warned though, the game looks horrible. |

Tried this out today with no noticable change in aiming. The issue may not be affecting all setups. Also my aiming difficulties seem to come mainly from the strange reverse acceleration on turn speed. |

Black bars also appear in HD. Seems like the game actually runs below 720p and it still manages to be one of the laggiest PS3 games I've ever played. |

Also if there is a way to adjust your screen through PS3, how. Go to settings, display settings, screen resolution, and uncheck everything except for 480p. The game will look like garbage but you will perform much better.
changed my settings. performance went through the roof. can we get a proper sticky on this? |

I will have to do this, with the lag in PC I need all the frames I can get. Also does anyone know what works better 4:3 or 16:9 |

I felt no difference in merc quarter, may be different in actual gameplay though. I am running through HDMI cable to HDTV. I have noticed as have many others that after playing for awhile the game gets a little choppy, this seems to be because Dust fills up the PS3's limited memory. Simple fix, add a memory dump when entering merc quarters. |

I am struggling to blame this on anything other than pure programming incompetency.
And there isn't really an answer to fix that. You can't just yell at an incompetent individual and expect them to suddenly be better. We're kinda stuck. |

(Sort of) Pretty graphics gets most of the audience to consider trying out the game, but only few leave the game for lack of performance.
I'd love to see an option to reduce graphical fidelity to gain some framerate performance. On the PC I play all games at pretty much the lowest graphics settings possible, even if my rig considerably outperforms the game's hardware requirements. |

the fix is confirmed, heavies if you want to not suck do this.
The graphics are horribad but you can track fast-movers, enemies at point-blank and dropships without losing the shots to framerate stutter. |

Also if it's about input lag, then why is this the only game that it feels the worst with?
You can't blame input for that. There is clearly something wrong with the mechanics and there is no compensation for the input lag.

Moejoe Omnipotent wrote:DO NOT mess around with the aiming mechanics. The aiming mechanics are fine, it's the input lag that is causing issues with aiming. It is NOT the aim acceleration or aim assist.
Set your screen resolution to 480p and the game will feel MUCH smoother.
At 720p there's nearly 0.5 seconds of input lag, almost as bad as Killzone 2. At 480p it's like 0.15, which is more like COD.
Fix the performance issues and aiming will feel much smoother. The aiming mechanics themselves do not really need work. While Input Lag, may likely be the cause of some trouble, they need to reinstitute the Magnetism, and the other aspects of Aim assist they took out for rework.
I have a crap TV, so I likely am already at 480, but it still is kinda weird.
Input Lag may likely increase the level of ickyness that the aiming has, but it isn't the whole issue. |
