DO NOT mess around with the aiming mechanics. The aiming mechanics are fine, it's the input lag that is causing issues with aiming. It is NOT the aim acceleration or aim assist.
Set your screen resolution to 480p and the game will feel MUCH smoother.
At 720p there's nearly 0.5 seconds of input lag, almost as bad as Killzone 2. At 480p it's like 0.15, which is more like COD.
Fix the performance issues and aiming will feel much smoother. The aiming mechanics themselves do not really need work. |

Also if there is a way to adjust your screen through PS3, how.
Go to settings, display settings, screen resolution, and uncheck everything except for 480p. The game will look like garbage but you will perform much better. |

Remove input lag.
When you try to move your camera when playing in HD, it takes half a second for your screen to respond to you moving your analog stick. When you play in a lower resolution your actions appear on screen nearly instantly. |

Try placing your ps3 in the DMZ of your router/modem instead.
1. Dust only plays up to native 720p (in fact it's probably lower than this and is upscaled to this resolution). There's absolutely no chance the game renders at 1080p. 2. Input lag has absolutely nothing to do with latency / connectivity issues.
Input lag is a normally a pretty small delay and may take an experienced gamer to notice, but it is there, it is causing the gameplay to be choppy, and it is effecting everyone whether they can tell it's there or not. |

Boot up the game in HD and quickly flick the analog stick to one side in the mercenary quarters. There will be a noticeable delay. Your analog stick will hit the side of your controller before your screen begins to turn.
Start up the game again in 480p. Quickly flick your analog stick to one side and you will notice the delay is much smaller. The camera should begin turning just as or before the analog stick hits the side of the controller. |

Black bars also appear in HD. Seems like the game actually runs below 720p and it still manages to be one of the laggiest PS3 games I've ever played. |
