It's almost like where the body lands isnt where you need to be revived from. |

Who thought the site of death was a more appropriate spot to have the medic go over the site of the body? Does that make sense to anyone at all? |

They should just get rid of injectors and let us revive with repair tools so I can revive them from cover.
As for this problem, well that's where lock-on kicks in. |

It's not worth it to equip an injector anymore, 9 times out of 10 you'll get killed trying to find where to inject, the other time it fails three times til he's revived. True definition of a POS, and not a player owned station |

STATED BY A DEV: Problem is the server only remembers the point of death and the server then sets the revival point to that location as the server doesn't see anything else. The revival icon and body place is calculated through the ragdoll effect by the client itself and therefore those two doesn't talk together and you therefore end up with a revival icon being over the body but the actual revive place is where the actual player died. So if the guy has been hit by a murder taxi well good luck finding that death spot.
I've heard they are looking into a way of making the client decide the revive point that way having the client calculate both corps point, revive icon place and revive point. That way making all 3 things be at the same location. Everything the server has to do is just verify that the revive location is somewhat near where the actual player died. ^^^This is something i think i've read somewhere. Maybe it's just an idea i got and mixed it together with something a dev wrote but i think this has been said by a dev.
When it comes to the multiply stabs but no revive thing i got no idea what's going on. Must have something to do with the new spawn screens. I really do hope CCP gets this fixed relatively fast. |

No thanks, I like the idea of a logi only being able to heal if they either;
A) Have the balls to run into fire B) Is in a safe place to do the revive
It makes so much sense to revive someone in fire right? Not like they'll die right?
Man, I can't wait 'till the average merc realizes it's not about the points. It's about the clones and the fitting cost.

Ragdolling is handled client-side, not server side. Therefor, if you are shot and fall where you were shot, you can be revived easily.
However, if you are killed on a slope and your body slides down it, that is rendered by each individual client, and not reported back to the server.
Thus, you actually aren't where the person died on the battle server, so you have no way to rez them.
Unfortunately, the only real way to fix this would be to remove ragdolling from the game, because having ragdolling handled server-side or having the clients report this extra data back to the server would cause far more lag. |

There are a couple good threads on how to increase your chances of reviving a downed blue.
1. Start at the ankles then move outward. For some reason I get the go ahead over the ankles more than anywhere else.
2. Keep your weapon or whatever out and just use the O button as it seems more reliable.
3. Stop moving until animation is finished.
By no means does this fix the issue, but it does help to work around it. Mostly.
All credit goes to my fellow logibees who came up with these tips. |
