I know armor but it doesnt seem to be worth a damn with just plates since i need a endless stream of reps, should i just use all armor rep mods ? i tryed using nano hives to get the armor back, but in the long term i kept running out of hives. |

2 enhanced armor plates and 2 complex armor repairers. If you don't care for a little extra speed then swap the 2 enhanced armor plates for complex armor plates. |

Dellrium has a good starting point for you to try out, but after you get to armor rep 5 (mandatory) and armor plating 3 you should play with the different load-outs. It'll take trial and error to find what is best for you.
Every death is a lesson. Learn what it has to teach you. If you die in the first encounter, add more plates. If you die after a couple fights, or are slowly chiseled down add more reps. You just gotta find what is the right mix of plates and reppers for you and your own unique way of approaching fights. |

tryed it out it small scale it,wasnt worth the stacking armor and reps just be be as slow as a heavy, it seemed better just to use a heavy suit and slap on a complex rep and run it as a assault suit. Gallente kinda sucks when it comes to tanking suits it seems. |

Suit yourself. I run the two enhanced armor plates two complex armor repairers and it works great for me. I feel a little slow but that's because everyone is a little slower this build. I'm still keeping stride with other medium suits at distances within the base. But that seems more of the Gallente playstyle, still run and gun but more focused on doing that within a single base defending and not so much running from base to base. |

Seems like you found your playstyle then. That's usually the hardest thing to do is find out what works for you.
Gallente suits can armour tank well but thier plethora of low slots allows more then just tanking options though. There are some very interesting builds where those low slots will be used quite extencively.
Hopefully you'll find some ways to experiment with your fitting. If you want some help feel free to send me a mail in game. |

The thing is that the medium suits don't fill the same role as the heavy. Even the assaults get an equipment slot and while that may seem kinda "whoopty do," that equipment slot makes all the differance in your options available to you. Active scanners are really making an impact on battlefield information while nanohives and injectors are very handy for squad sustainability.
You can't just look at it as simply "defence and firepower" when comparing the dropsuits. While the heavies are very powerful suits, they are easily detectable by scanners and have no equipment slots so they rely on other sqaud members to support them. If your role in the squad is simply to do the most damage or to take the most hits, then yes, the heavy will be better suited to you. Otherwise the medium suits will be a much better compromise as while you sacrifice the sheer tanking and heavy weapons selection of heavy suits, you can still function as some level of squad support. Using a clever mix of assault suits, you can cover every peice of gear you need with a little overlap in more important areas like revival.
This is also not-withstanding other modules which can help in certain senarios, such as hacking, which can greatly improve a squads effectiveness.
Going back to the Gallente Assault suit, if you tank it to be close to the speed of a heavy then you can run with a heavy squad-mate and provide nanohives for the both of you. You never have to worry about getting too far ahead of him and you'll still beable to take quite the beating yourself, while your downside of moving slower ends up being a bit less of a downside since you're matching speed with your heavy counterpart so your unit is moving slower as a group to begin with.
Hope this helps you to look at more of the options available to you. |

TBH I'd upgrade to a Gallente Logi, 5 low slots allowing for 3x Complex Armor Plates and 2x Complex Kinetic Catalyzers (If you want to sink MILLIONS of SP in to that stuff) with no need for armor reps from the Logi bonus. For a Gallente Assault I'd suggest 3x Basic Armor Plates and a Repper of your choice (I'd use standard, saves your fitting power and 3 extra hp per second doesnt really help in firefights, only after when your dead ). 3x Basic Plates are rediculously easy on your fitting, at only 30cpu/3pg. This buffs your HP to 400+ while still running faster than most logis (9% movement speed reduction on a 7 speed suit puts you at 6.37m/s which is decent). Don't use enhanced plates they slow you down too much, same with complex unless you want to sink in to Speed Mods.
For High slots I'd take 1-2 Complex Dmg Mods with 1-2 Complex Shield extenders (1dmg:2extenderrs imo) and this gets your shields up to a neat 250+ |

It really depends on your playstyle and how much you want to spend.
Personally, I use two armour reps and 1 plate. Always enhanced plates and I'll mix and match reps depending on how much I want the suit to cost.
Toss in a shield regulator and you have a suit which can take a good amount of dmg and get back its armour and shields in no time. |

After 2 weeks of not playing the suit and coming back to it today this seems to be the best choice from what iv been testing .i lasted longer in an area than i did hull tanking with 461 armor compare to 262 armor with 10reps a sec. |

I'm in the process of building a Gallente Assault Armor Tank and this is what I'm on track for (only missing the Nanohive):
Gallente Assault gk.0 Dropsuit 3x Complex Light Damage Mods 3x Basic Armor Plates 1x Complex Armor Repper 1x K17/D Nanohive with Armor Repair Duvolle AR/TAR Toxin SMG Fused Locus Grenades
It's tough, but it's possible to fit all of that. That gives me a decent canon (especially adding in AR proficiency) and a more that sufficient armor tank at the same time.
IMO, it's not worth it to run more than one armor repper, especially if you can fit the armor repping Nanohive. Using 2 armor reppers still won't keep you alive in a firefight any more than 1. From what I've found, one complex repper with armor repair module skills upgraded can get me back to full health fast enough while I sit back and recover behind a wall or just take pot shots at people.
However, as several people have already said, it really depends on your play style.

Gallente are very good as snipers, 3 damage mods and the plates. They aren't good as CQC-mid range because they either slow as hell or weak. If I were to use a Gallente assault I would speed tank and the highs for shields. |

i try this, reliance on the hive was too great for me,without it your screwed, that one rep mod wouldn't repair enough in time for the next engagement. |
