This is something I've wanted since I got into the beta.
I even posted it last year.
I was told I was a scrub for wanting fauna that I had to worry about during Instant Battles.
At least now I know that I am not alone in my desire for crazy jungle planet with crazier wildlife just looking to survive. |

Considering dropsuits weight in at 5tons each just for the medium frame, we should just sink. Treat it like land but with a 50% movement speed. Then have LAVs and tanks break if they go too deep.
Simple, clean. Makes dropships more useful so you don't have to go underwater. Remember our suits work in space too, they have their own oxygen already. I understand the isue but it's another large thing making this feel very unpolished.
I'm also ok with removal all water from all planets in new eden, that's a fix too. |

CCP Android wrote:Tallen Ellecon wrote: During night maps (and possibly day) if the moon count and size was accurate with the planet being fought on it could really help change up the look and feel of every map. This also includes the same nebula seen in EVE in that particular system..
This is something that I am very interested in doing and we've talked about this internally. I haven't actually made a prototype of this yet, but it should work ... in theory All the information is there, we just have to find a way to make it work together I've also been toying with the idea of finding events that happen in EVE that could somehow have an effect on the environment. For example, if a Titan would explode in orbit around the planet, it make the atmosphere thinner and show more of a nebula, Similar to what happened on Caldari Prime where the Titan went down. Even making it rain ash and fire after a large battle for a few hours. Even some sort of an energy pollution This would make planets that have more activity look more dramatic with a view into space and a more dynamic environment These are just ideas in my head though you are the best art dev ever |

lol water is a very difficult thing to program... we've all heard that many times before.
You don't realize just how much you appreciate those little things (like water) in video games, until they aren't there. During the Caldari Prime event I was a sniper primarily, and I was sitting away from the battle, just gazing up at the skybox... because it was the FIRST time I had ever seen STARS in Dust. I was amazed with the artwork...
Seriously, until that event... we had never seen the night sky.
Things as simple as water and being able to see the night sky... make a real difference in video games. |

I am a huge proponent of PVE. I love New Eden and I joined Dust to explore more of it. Everything the map designers do is a breath of fresh air from an aesthetics standpoint, and I will hope they go this route soon. I don't think animals should be a priority but that would be cool. |

Adding to the OP request, I think the night skybox should look identical to the surrounding space in EVE if not slightly darker due to the atmosphere. It kind of shows now, but in redder tinted systems, a semi reddish tinted night would be cool. I honestly think by getting lighting and celestial in tune with the EVE universe, you would be breaking grounds in gaming. |

I didn't double check to see if my location was consistent with the skybox, but I have to say great job CCP. The sky is a vast improvement over its already awesome state. The additional detail on the starmap also adds to it. Keep it up. |
