since scout profile is 45p, i've guessing aiming for something less that 45b would be good? or is there a set standard somewhere? answers please; no "oh this was covered already" links either :P |

The standard series active scanners detect down to 36dB, if you have lower than that, you should be good.

For an Assault suit/ Logi to drop below 28 dB (which is going to be the most prevailing active scanner range), it takes profile dampening lvl 5, a Complex Profile Dampener, and a Enhanced Profile Dampener. |

The best proto active scanner reaches 28 dB and highlights redberries for 25 seconds. That's the one you have to hide from. There is *one* that gets to 15 dB, but it takes 5 seconds to active and only highlights for 5 seconds. That's the only one that gets below 28 dB. |

They nerfed passive scanning and changed the way that people are spotted. It is now easy for anyone to flank undetected if the enemy does not have an active scanner. |

If possible, aim below 15, because as mentioned, there is ONE scanner capable of detecting you down to that point. If you can't drop that low without compromising other aspects of your fitting, then try to break the 28 mark to beat the scanners most likely to be prevalent.
Also, when an enemy uses an active scanner, there's an on-screen "you have been scanned" message - watch for it and be prepared to change tactics if it happens. |

What I'm wondering is how it will work if you have 4 Complex Dampeners 9-25% x 4) on a Proto Scout, full skills (-25%), full Dampening skill (-10%). If you strictly add the percentages, it is a 135% reduction, but I don't think this is how it is calculated. |

aim for lower then 28, lower than 15 is meh as that scanner has a 30 second cooldown and likely not to be as highly used. |

Stacking penalties...same for every percentage based module in the game... |

I have maxed scanner skills and wear light suits, the suit scanner doesn't seem to pick up anyone unless I get them in my LoS. No need to lower your profile unless you're trying to hide from someone using an active scanner. |

It applies the skills sequentially, then the mods apply along with the relevant stacking penalties.
So you get a 25% reduction (45 - 25% = 33.75) Then you apply the 10% reduction (33.75 - 25% = 25.3125) Then you stack on the Dampeners in the same way, but apply the relevant stacking penalty for each one as you go.
Looks like you can beat most Scanners just by maxing out Profile and Scout skills. |

You subtracted 25% twice instead of 25% and 10%, so you can't quite beat everything with skills alone - but even if you could, scouts are meant to be sneaky bastards so I'd be fine with it. |

From my testing, its not a percentage stacking penalty per say, but they stack one after another, giving diminishing returns.
50 * .9 (for profile dampening -10%) = 45 45 * .75 (for complex profile dampener - 25%) = 33.75 33.75 * .80 (for enhanced profile dampener -20%) = 27
Edit: Calculating for Assaults and Logis |

So basically what you're saying is, unless we're staring at them on the screen, we can't see them in the radar?! "Dang.." |

It was a blast last build, when everyone was so dependent on the radar. What sniper expects a assault suit with complex shields in all the highs and whatever weapon to sneak up on you? Flanking actually worked.
This build however, the radar is useless, so profile dampeners are basically useless because everyone ignores the radar now. |

The standard active scanner is actually 46dB and the standard vehicle active scanners are 45dB. |
