We tested this earlier when someone had RL stuff to do. I got 4800 SP, played, and did bad. 5200 for the guy who did really well, and 4200 for our AFK friend.
Not fixed. Not by a long long way. |

They even made it so Dropships cant get up the hatch too
Haven't tried yet, but the hatch looks smaller. |

Because of the screwed up way you get SP.
You get SP for time the battle takes + 1 SP per WP. So at best you'll only get 1000 sp for actually participating if you play REALLY hard and do really well. But most people can't do that, especially considering the gear disparity, it's just as effective (if not more so, cause you're losing money) to just hole up in the MCC |

CCP... you want to know why people AFK in Dust?
The AFKers are doing what they do in response to the game sucking in their eyes, while still managing to gain more SP than they would through passive gain only. This is possible due to the fact that SP is gained through being a match alone. The amount that one gets depends on how long that person is in a match. The worst part about it, is that there is literally nothing stopping them from doing so at all! No viable method to dealing with AFKers hasn't been put into place at all in Dust, even when they started to appear! Essentially, we are looking at AFKing with benefits, which is the worst kind to me.
Now how to deal with AFKers with benefits? Well, how about they get deprived of said benefits as a result of their actions? I suggest that if a player does not move after five or ten minutes (whichever is more reasonable), they are then kicked from the match, with no SP gained whatsoever.
Of course, some of the smarter ones will move an inch or two every so often in order to stay in a match and keep their benefits, so if anyone has any ideas to prevent that, I'm all ears :) |
