I'm building a theory based on reactions of the last few days because what I'm seeing in game is a totally diffrent story to what I'm seeing on the fourms namely people in game are loving dust hense the stable player count. And the only people who seem to have any issue are the hardcode players. However this might be my perception of me noticeing the same names.
So could say if u feel that ur a hardcore dust player or feel u are more casual player.
At the moment I feel certain groups are trying to force this game down a path the rest of us don't want but were all happy playing to tell the others to shove it :-P:-P.

Every game has a vocal minority that feel like their opinion is more valid due to the length of time they've played, also known as bittervets. They tend to be very resistant to change, so its understandable the forums are full of them two days after the biggest set of changes Dust is likely to see for a while. |

This is why the game won't be viable as an FPS. These numbers could work if it were open world single shard. But in fixed number lobby shooter they will not. As more and more separation occurs through FW, PC and the variants of gamemodes it has finding stable connections will be difficult and proper matchmaking to insulate new players from the 11M+ SP vets is just not possible.
So while i am a casualcore player (i play when i can but im super competitive) i know that new players is the lifeblood of any online game and this game has simply no way for players to get into the game quickly.
Starting SP is too low SP costs are too high There is a SP cap(so you cant even powergrind to a decent suit)
All of this is coming from the MMO hardcore of veteran players get advantage in MMO, in FPS a veteran player can get stomped by a newb if the newb has player skill.
This game needs to function more FPS MMO and less MMO FPS.
Make progression simpler or at the least quicker to get into. Combine it with raiding, looting, market, economy, persistance, Role play, and indepth customization and this game will do very well.
Stick to this model and well

I think is various factors
For example ;
I consider my self a Hardcore player as for : I been playing games for many years, i play almost every single new release ( that is half decent ), and if i like the game allot, i can easily play 6 - 8 hours a day, every day.
To me personally this New build is nearly perfect, not counting bugs and other small issues ( That can be fix as we go )
No sure what " Hardcore " means in Dust 514... maybe someone could explained to me ? |

My play is generally casual. I don't have a large corp nor want one, just generally play with a handful of friends. I don't plan to get big into Planetary Conquest but I would hope to be hired as a mercenary to help other corps.
My interest is more hardcore though, I am invested into the future of Dust and I enjoy the community and actively try to get more people into it, I like all the stats and such, and I plan to play for a long time.
My views on Uprising? Some minor flaws but overall much better than Chromosome. |

Congrat june graduation, enjoy that high school diploma, maybe some university education will teach you how to look at trends and not isolated points of simple numbers.
Then again its difficult to teach people about process or trends and how they relate to systems analysis, its really an innate skill that can only be learned over time. Not to worry someday you will understand, today just clearly isnt it.
You must be so sore knowing that despite your schooling you still remain a hapless idiot with no utility in the real world. Like i said keep staying in school, at best you are currently suited for menial tasks in the job market. |

Keyser your tendency to turn to personal attacks even further shows you to be an idiot, hover your bloody mouse over any one of those graphs and read the date. There is no three months worth of data with which analyze trends. You are working with insufficient data if you are doing anything at all other than spewing contradictions.

Oh snap! He called you an idiot! Thats low. So low I would recommend ignoring it, because even if your graph dosn't show a large enough sample size, remember that "we cant all no life the game all day". Your thoughtfull input was not appriciated and your being trolled. So ignore the chap and focus on legit posts. Else you might "no life the forums" all day, arguing pointlessly with people who may never realise that they are trolling.
P.S. I'm right in the middle of casual/hardcore. I log many hours a day, but take lots of brakes to work/study/socialize.
