As mainly a vehicle player, I've found my Infantry guys sticking with me a lot more as they're out in the open flanking my tank not getting picked off from a distance, and it's been very fun. People don't seem to get it though, they still rush around like Rambo and get shot up, the game is about Teamwork, not you soloing it up. Just remember, because we have an unchanging range on all weapons, as the maps open up CCP can always adjust the ranges to be further without worrying about making a certain weapon OP because it has 40% more range already due to skills. I agree with this. I think it's not so much CCP focusing on CQC but more pushing squad action. The effect I've noticed is a lot more noticeable attack/defend maneuvering, team cohesion, and focus fire. I think this kind of teamwork is part of what sets EVE and Dust aside from most other games and what CCP is doing right. Its not squad action its mob action. A 6 man squad could be an opportunity for coordination and working as fire teams in different areas of the map. Instead the best strategy is to bunch up and mob people since most enemies don't have a way to effectively engage you at a safe distance. Also to the person before you, flanking is less effective when range is reduced because there are fewer areas to take cover on their flank. If you want to be on someone's flank at a distance of 20-60 meters, but your gun only has a range of 50 meters then you have just forfeited 10 meters of potential cover (the numbers aren't representative of actual weapons, they are just examples).
Mob action? Tell that to the 12 guys fighting our 6 man squad who rushed us and got smashed. |

Not really, when you can't even shoot across the street with an AR it just feels sloppy. The maps were developed with much longer ranges in mind, and now the game is very CQC.
The ranges on a lot of these weapons need to be reworked, and more cover added to most maps.
I miss chromosome more and more every game I play.
The Tac AR is the only halfway useful gun now. I assume the scrambler will just be a low recoil, overheating, shield bonus variant of the AR. Meaning the full auto variant, like the ARs full auto variant will be garbage, and the semi auto/charged mid range variant will be useful.
All it is now is snipers and forge gunners laughing as they OHK you while your bullets disappear mere feet from their face.
Like Solid snake says in every thread, adapt or die. I expect to adapt my way (and my wallet) on over to a different game if this isn't fixed very very soon. |

Im sure ccp will fix bugs and this before launch or it could hurt the release. |
