This mostly applies to night time battles, but much of the scenery seems to get this strange glowing outline around it. I'm not sure if the sky is glitching or what, but it kind of reminds me of Sly Cooper :P

Yes! The whole thing (in battle) looks VERY cartoony to me. It was much Much MUCH better the other way. Ok you did you did your expirement with the graphics, it didn't work out now change it back. It was wwwaaayyy better the other way.
Also what is up with the horribly grainy bullet tracer/laser beam/other weapon effects? Graphicaly, they are extraordinarily grainy and just all around look terrible compared to what I am use to.

I am having a hard time having to adjust to all the detail that is present.
The last build was a blank slate compared to this build. The color might be off a bit, but it still looks WAY better than last build.

Everything looks great to me aside from some anti aliasing issues with gunfire lines. I like the graphical improvements.
What definition tvs are you guys using? do you guys use as HDMI cable? Can you show any pictures of what you're talking about? |

Yes, graphics overall are much better. there does seem to be a loss of antialiasing though. I see this in the tracer fire as well as ladders. |

I'm using an HDtv monitor with 50000:1 Dynamic Contrast and HDMI and although most static things are fine (although not what I was expecting from the screenshots in devblogs), animations with gunfire, rockets, hives, plants etc are all blocky like something outta an 80's arcade game. It's even worse at sniper ranges where dropsuit animations become, as said above, very boarderlands, and the gunfire is just a load of squares. |

The light looks like some kind of night-vision technology :p It has something to it, but I'd love to be able to turn it back to dark somehow. Just for the beautiful looks, or even to detect lights from vehicles etc. |

I can't help but think they had a discussion and said "CARTOON!" Yay! I mean, the character select screen is now a choice of three cartoons right from the get go. Too much yellow to "highlight" information. HDMI cable here.
By the way, I can't post anywhere ever again without mentioning my shotgun. I went to level 5 hoping tighter spread would help.... NOPE... No range = 7 million SP toon useless, and using a militia AR for the long haul. |

The problem is that now everything is way too sharp. It's like when you see really poor CGI in movies and it's too clean cut and sticks out like a sore thumb. All the models need to be way less sharp and a bit dirtier, so there are less clean outlines and shinyness. |

I think I will leave it to my Artist colleagues to address your feedback on art style.
From a tech perspective, in Uprising we have been moving towards materials that have a more complex and realistic response to lighting - a lot of focus was put on the metallic materials and the terrain materials.

Fitting name. I have to say the thing I'm most impressed with is the floodlights on drop ships. It's very dynamic and I hope cherries on the ground can see the illumination of death covering them the way I do. |

Environment lighting is really nice. Very well done in most maps. Some of the best wide open space, outdoor, landscape directional lighting I have seen on console.
There are some weird instances of a sort of halo effect when you have a dark figure against a dark ground.
We aren't seeing very subtle reflected light on the side of an object facing away from the main light source, or light wrapping around objects. Especially the character models as they move through the environment.
But to me the entire build has a "fatter" feeling. As if lighting and effects were rendered with sharpie, as opposed to a rapidograph. However that translates to Wacom tablet.
Everything does look 2 dimensional, graphic and over saturated in the Warbarge.
Not too sure about the Amarrr interior decorators/ designers. High key sodium glare is oppressive and I would expect a more natural light in a living space. Even if the walls had a golden glow. But maybe the Amarr do it differently. |

CCP Photon than why does my heavy suit look made out of cloth? Because parts of it are, but it's only got simple shaders on now :/ So instead of just parts the effect seems to be on the whole thing... |

I'm not sure how it is with other people, but the graphics became 100 times worse on my tv. I have a full HD 1080i 102 cm LCD, Now in Beta i had a full screen, now it only displays on half the screen in the middle, with black bar outlinings. So i have to zoom in with my tv, what makes it even worse. Everything is pixelated, its all fuzzy and hazy, low details, and allthough i like colors, It looks to much Cartoon style. A.k.a borderlands, and i hate that style of game. I personally like realism, not cartoon books/comics. When compared with Eve. Eve looks reall, feels reall and since Dust is an extension to Eve in a way, it should look and feel the same way, just with more colors. But not this style. To me its as if i'm playing a game on the very lowest settings of my Pentium 1 graphics card. Not to mention when using a scoped sniper rifle, the figures on the battlefield look either completely black, at a far distance, or pixels closer by. The only thing that actually looked good was the tank, there you could actually see the graphics and details improved.
I trully hope CCP is making the graphics there top priority, because graphics are half the games worth. |

I'd recommend switching your display settings over to 720p and see if that's any better. This sounds from my (very limited) experience that it's an issue with the interlaced image format associated with 1080i (especially with your comment about it only displaying half the image). These graphics are a billion times better, so you're obviously not seeing what the rest of us are |

Rubbish, it have that "Counter Strike" feel to it... I love it.
Not saying in any form that Dust 514 is now CS, even that it wont be such a bad thing. To me CS is one of the games that always got the balance of "Performance V's Graphics" spot on. |
