Thanks to the new skill tree being out early I hope some of you have taken the time to at least gone though the new travel plans.
All I am going to say as a good word of caution to all of you is...
Slow Down.
The temptation to spend those hundreds of millions of isk, aur and SP may make you splurge but you may wind up in a specialization that isn't what you thought it to be. Uprising is an entirely new monster and you owe it to yourself to enjoy the journey of progression a bit. Relearn the game, the skills, the bonuses, what can and cannot be done.
I know that some of you have 8-12 million skill points but seriously carefully consider the skills on the tree and go slow with it. When it comes to dropsuits and vehicles go even slower, try each teir out before going up the next level. You may find a useful base suit instead of the tech 2 specialist suits.
Get militia of everything, try it before you buy it. See how others use the newer toys, but take it slow and careful and don't overspend yourself into regret.
So other than that, Happy 10th Birthday New Eden, Happy Uprising day everyone else. |

I will first focus on what I consider to be "core" skills and then consider the role I want to play the most- and specialize as best I can.
Iron Wolf,
Do you see 11M SP being good for specializing into one role or would there be enough for another role in addition? |

Spend all your reimbursed AUR on militia BPO's of suits and equipment and leave the SP alone for about 2 weeks is the plan I have in mind. |

It would suck to go L5 in your suit frame and weapon only to find you can't fit anything on to it. Or have a ton of CPU/PG, but no SP to work on your rifle survivability.
It's going to require specialization. After looking at it I worry about how OP vehicles are going to be in the beginning. You can't skill into multiple roles right now. Advanced AV nades and militia swarms will be a ground pounders only defense.
I prepared a spreadsheet to try and follow tomorrow and I'm shocked at how bad my dude is going to suck in comparison to now even though I can fill multiple roles.

Keep in mind though that "core" skills for one race, weapon or piece of equipment may not be "core" skills in a greater sense. Example would be nanocircitry which while nice for Nano Hives served almost no other function. Im not sure about new skills and what have you, im not anywhere near my PS3 for another week (traveling for work) but im sure you catch my meaning here. |

I did the maths: It'll take 10,260,360 SP to max out all core skills (skills that affect all dropsuits).
Max Core Bonuses: 50% bonus to dropsuit scan range.
30% bonus to dropsuit max PG and CPU.
25% bonus to dropsuit maximum armor and shield.
25% bonus to dropsuit hacking speed.
10% bonus to dropsuit scan profile and precision.
5% bonus to dropsuit sprint speed, max stamina and stamina recovery.
I'd strongly consider not taking the 5th level; it's a luxury in most cases.
This is just for Dropsuit Upgrades btw. |

Hi there really good advice, thats is how I kind of thought about how would I go on it in progression of my spec. Even if I know what suits me the most and what I wanna go for I still give it a time and see how those things are going with my playstyle that I ve kinda developed over the time. |

lets see
To get Amarr medium you need drop suit lvl 3 and Amarr Medium 1
To get a scrambler rifle you need weaponry 3, Light Weapons 1, Sidearms 1, and Scrambler Rifle 1 and Scrambler Pistol 1.
Minimal spec costs are.
DC3 68400 AM1 37320 WE3 68400 WO1 12440 SR1 12440 SP1 12440
Or 211,440 Minimal To access to get the proto weapons its 1.430240
and with Protosuit its
3,258,440
No core skills.

My spreadsheet is mocking me. 11 mil to dedicate to logistics and I still feel like a noob. Maybe 15 mil will cover it but I want to see what the many of those skills actually do first.

Disregarding scan profile, precision and range, along with systems hacking entirely (what I assume you mean w/regards to scouts), we end up with 5,907,480 SP. |

It seems weird, that they didn't add all the "suits" at the same time. Because I think some people want to use some suits that they won't see right now and they can't wait for them saving their SP because they won't be able to make a competitive gameplay just using militia gear (it's not that easy) |

TBH 11 million SP isn't that much in New Eden terms. It only seems like a lot now because we've only been properly accruing them since open beta. In three years time, another 10x to level five won't feel as painful as it does now, because all the alternatives are just as long.
I'm training 20 day long drone skills right now... and I hardly feel it. |

To be honest I have no idea, I always been an omni-soldier and always specced into everything, if anything this new build is going to hurt me the most.
If anything dropsuit core upgrades, dropsuit electronics and dropsuit engeineering, dropsuit armor upgrades, and dorpsuit shield upgrades are the first skills I am maxxing out in the new build (and not the sub skills) |

Can you tell me what do you mean with "sub skills"?
PS: Another question:
What can you tell about the new weapons? They're added "to be tested" or most like a final version? I ask because as you said, if you want to spend your sp wisely, you need to knok what kind of weapon will you use. |

Skills such as Cardiac Regulation or Armor Plating are what IWS is referring to as sub skills; they are skills that affect modules rather than dropsuits. |

I understand. So your advice is spend the sp in "passive skills" that affects all the dropsuits. |
