Two things.
First to the people saying they ONLY did this to "push boosters". Well, CCP has to make some money off this game. It's kind of expensive to develop games and that seems a decently fair approach. Of course I'd prefer more cosmetics. Of course anything they do to change the game making it more difficult or grindy even if motivated entirely by game design will be met by accusations of "Evil capitalists!. The devs should work for free and starve themselves rather than attempt to monetize their work".
Second to the people saying this will make specializing take too long. 1-2 months even!
Personally I've played countless MMO's, some free some paid. I have never discovered an MMO type game where you could achieve a max level character in under a couple months. Level up, run dungeons, run raids, collect gear upgrades till you meet the progression level of players who have been there forever. This always takes a while.
Why do you feel Dust should be a game where you reach a max character (which for all intents and purposes being proto in a single specialization is) in under a month the way Dust has been so far?

Without boosters, it will take you 14 weeks to max your suit (if you cap out every single week). ONLY your suit. You then have weapons, modules, equipment, passives to deal with. |

Even with boosters, it will take you 8 weeks of treating DUST like a second job. |

That could be totally ridiculous if that's how it calculates out to be.
But what if the real thing they want is to delay the presence of proto gear in battles to begin with. Like how long does it take to make a Titan in Eve but they're still not totally OP. Is that possible and could it be a good thing or no |

Makes a change from other games where you can get everything in a week |

A long, long time ago. BWL, AQ40, original NAX lol. I know things have changed since tier 2 was max gear. |

Honestly, just make everything 100% passive if your going down this route. The grind will be a huge turn-off to new and mid-range players. |

I don't have to play EVE 18 hours a week to get my Recon V skill in less than 3 months. So no, this is totally mixing grinding and pay to win. |

It is how it calculates to be.
310920 (think that's SP to max a x1 skill) x 16 = 4974720 to max suit specialization skills (x6 + x10 skills)
4974720 / 51200 (daily representation of active+passive cap) = 97.1625 days = 13.88 weeks (14.74 weeks with dropsuit command in there) |

No, maybe because I wasn't 'bitching' about missing anything.
It was about their messages being unclear as everyone admitted. They rely on old Eve players who know what implications are hidden in their messages about timing. Things like "At downtime" or "IN GMT" were not explicit.
Plus I took issue with the time-frame the event existed in because it was unfair to other players. I happened to have had the time to go through all of it if I wanted to.
So get your facts straight next time :) |

What the missing SP or having made a post about CCP's expectation that new players rely on experience they don't have with the company to extrapolate information which veterans of Eve can see was implied? |

That's yet to be seen lol. But the way it was explained to me is that I in fact did not "lose" anything! So how could I be upset at all :P |
