Adstellarum G I A N T EoN. 49	Posted - 2013.05.02 04:14:00 - [1] - Quote with the new assault dropships coming in uprising being able to test to see if MCRUs will actually grant WP to pilots would be rather handy not to mention the fact that proto level forge gun can 2/3 shot a Balos completely destroying your vehicle before it even gets deployed even though the RDV may have been hovering for 8-10 seconds already.... also toneing down HP of Militia dropships and militia LAVs should also be implemented.... no way should a heavy get hit 2x by a militia LAV after it had been heavily shot at and still live while killing a 1 K + hp Heavy

It's exactly the opposite of a good idea, and makes bad ideas look brilliant in comparison to it. Until we get Speeders, free LAVs are a valid option for fast movement, but once we get speeders, I think they should replace LAVs as the only free vehicle. OR on characer creation, we should be able to spec into piloting as a starter role (and add tank drivers to the list), and get a really horrible free pilot suit fitting as your unique starter fit, but also a terrible starter Dropship fit that the pilot suit makes marginally less terrible. If they add a tank driver starter option, we'll get a so-bad-it's-broken HAV fitting to match the Dropship that the pilot role is given.

That right there...is the number ONE reason why not to do it The second is because all you'll be doing is feed the AV crowd free points.

Making it free would just compound the problem. Also, why should snipers get to the top for free and camp a tower? It should have a real cost to it.

Which is comeplety wrong, as anyone who has spec'ed into LAV's can tell you, they are frikkin fantastic vehicles with very good survivability.

Cosgar pretty much nailed it with the snipers tower taxi comment. Although I used my DS to Monty Python people. That doesn't count as a kamikaze because the DS didn't blow up back then.

I do think some light vehicle should remain free simply for troop transportation. I mean can you imagine a new player spawning into Manus Peak for the first time and having to RUN to the objective? I'd probably just shoot myself and be done with it. May it be Speeders or LAVs or whatever, at least one (easily killable) vehicle should persist.
