CCP, remove the artificial flight ceiling on May 6th. With the introduction of the Assault Dropship on that day, there is no justified reason for this restriction. The ground infantry wants to see full air - air battles going on like it used to be in Closed Beta. Stop with the Ninja Nerfs, put these issues in front of the community. This will only help to make your/our game better, we want to help you.
These battles were truly momentous and exciting to watch will fighting on the ground in closed beta. I think you can ask anyone that played doing those times would agree. But, since then you have continually ninja nerfed these battles from existence. Please, ask for your community's input on these issues of such importance.

Remember getting on top of the MCC with an uplink? Good times, good times. Open up the skies CCP and let these pilots have fun. Pilots need something to play with. I liked repping the MCC option we had and being able to shoot the MCC. As long as other is a way to shoot the people repping the MCC then there is no problem. Give these mercs some options. Pilots get few kickbacks while flying a paper thin ship that is expensive. No play style should be overlooked or written off, if pilots want to fly high let them, if they want on top of the MCC to rep it then let them. The more invisible walls and rules we put in the game the less sand we have to kick in people's eyes. I like my castle but if you waddle over in a heavy suit and blast it with a forge gun then good job to you and I should try harder next time. |

This is why we have a ceiling, and it's not even perfect. I had a skirmish in Line Harvest a few days ago and someone managed to get up there with a Thale's and this guy never missed. |

I believe people are forgetting the reason we have a flight ceiling is so that dropships cannot just rain death from above and be out of range for other weapons to reach them. |

Next time you play, check out the spawn map Zoom out all the way ???? PROFIT!
That's what a single map is going to be like eventually. With all that space to maneuver around in, why worry about an artificial ceiling? Also, until the MCC sniping thing can be fixed, lowering the ceiling seemed like the fastest way to do rebalance things right now. |

No rules. We should have all options and tactics open. The range of weapons can be altered to help with butt hurt but we shouldn't be held back by people who cry about dying. Yeah dying hurts, get over it. Glass ceilings and invisible walls suck, are not fun and take away from emergent tactics, variety of engagements and limits potential. Unadulterated, unrestricted and all out war is what we need not some kiddy pool half full of tears and ****. |

Have you seen the range of turrets these days? Blasters have a relatively shirt range, missiles are woefully inaccurate and have had their range limited, and tailbone are so broken and rather hard to hit an infantry sized target with at the distances we're talking about. |

Small turrets have limited range too, there is no reason to have the flight ceiling anymore. |

K. Invisible walls do suck.
CCP get rid of the flight ceiling but add low atmosphere conditions in place. So when a dropship exits the atmosphere it cant operate effectively because it uses jet engines and not fuel based rocket engines. That way if a dropship wants to go above the flight ceiling it will have to deal with the consequences (usually a death spin).
Also this opens up the opportunity for planets with larger atmospheres (higher flight ceiling) that can be focused on air combat. |

They don't use jet engines, they use ion/plasma engines.
jet: carry fuel and need air to burn it from outside. rocket: carry air and fuel so work in a vaccum Ion/plasma: can use air without fuel in atmosphere, can use carried fuel in vacuum, requires large amounts of electricity.
Old pre-ceiling mechanic seemed to drop thrust at higher altitudes, plates lowered max height and nano raised it. Highest altitude was gained staying still and only going up, forward motion reduced thrust available to climb.
I can get onto mountains higher then mcc as an assault, and mcc is still reachable in dropship now.
As long as av weapons out range dropship guns (like current swarms and forge unless dropship is using rails), let them fly higher. If they can climb above av range but can't fire back it is not a big issue.

Ok. So if a dropship exits the atmosphere shields and modules should all be nerfed down (or disabled) because most of the electricity should be deployed to fly the ship. That would be cool. Also it would create an area for Dropships to dogfight each other without having to worry so much about ground troops |
