I posted this in the Feedback and request section already, but id like to see how much you guys would support something like this. During fanfest CCP announced an EVE collectors addition, it costs 150$ and comes with a variety of different things. Some of this stuff is unique dropsuit and weapon BPO's that I would REALLY like to have, but theres also a TON of eve stuff that would be almost useless to me.
So what I proposed is that CCP makes a "Dust 514 collectors pack" or something like this. It would cost 50$ and would give us the fancy amarr stuff in the EVE collectors pack, plus maybe the golden LAV you can only get by getting a PS super slim. This to me is a great way for them to make extra money without having to do much at all (aside from putting it up on the PS store). AND it would save me the 100 extra dollars because I wouldn't be getting the eve related items. I mean.... im a dust merc so why would I want 5 bpo's for a ship that i'll never fly? or a book going over the lore of eve? things like that which really don't have a big connection to me.
What do you guys think? good idea? or bad idea? im looking to get some support for this idea because as more people agree with it, the bigger the chance CCP will make it happen. |

Semantics, but it's not BPOs in the CE, it's a 5 run BPC (5 copies, assembly required).
Regardless a Dust514 Collectors Edition sounds like a cool idea - maybe some different items though. |

I just saw the listing on this item, it's pretty crazy stuff, relative to the sort of BPOs that are available now. I assume it's all Tier 1 at least:
Amarr "Templar" Assault Dropsuit Amarr "Templar" Logistics Dropsuit Amarr "Templar" Heavy Dropsuit Amarr Scrambler Pistol Amarr Scrambler Assault Rifle Amarr Laser Rifle & Amarr Droplink
Three suit BPOs, and what would be the only non-militia BPO that exists so far. New/different Medium-frame BPOs, also Tier 1 I'd assume. Two weapons that don't have non-militia BPOs: Scrambler pistol/rifle, and one that has no BPO at all (or militia version) the laser. The droplink would be another item that has no non-militia BPO.
So, that's pretty insane. It's also... really really Amarr-focused, which sort of sucks for people that aren't big fans of them.
I agree with you though, I have no interest in EVE stuff, and would prefer a cheaper package that's Dust-specific. I wouldn't mind something with history/background of the universe, but I have a feeling that the digital items are the main draw for most Dust players. The other things like the board game or USB hub... uh.. I don't know that I really need that stuff. |

The tribute suits are standard BPOs btw. ('Sever' Logistics, 'Raven' Assault and the 'Valor' Scout suits)
EDIT: The 'Exile' AR, 'Toxin' SMG and 'Daemon' Shotgun are standard weapon BPOs available with various packs.
Basically standard BPOs are not without precedent, and Amarr is completely unrepresented, so the BPOs in the collectors edition are not totally insane. |

Totally insane in volume I think. To get all the other BPOs requires, what? Three marketplace purchases (not sure of the cash equivalent, but they're.. 11800 Aurum a piece.. or something like that? The Exile is in the starter pack, that's $10, the Toxin is in the Merc, that's $20, the Syndicate is in the Gamestop Merc which is also $20, Dragonfly is in any Merc pack, and the Daemon wasn't released stateside that I'm aware of.
This is two standard light weapon BPOs (laser/scrambler), one sidearm standard BPO (scrambler), 1 standard heavy suit BPO (doesn't exist otherwise), 1 logistics & 1 assault standard BPO, and a droplink BPO (only standard equipment BPO that exists). That's a pretty crazy amount of stuff in one place (and it would be nice to have a less exorbitant price option to get the stuff). |

That's the argument im basing this on ^^^^ why wouldn't they put something like this up for sale??? they know people would buy it, and it would/ should be easy to set up. This would be an opportunity to give us dust players a bunch of stuff that we have been unable to get before hand. I mean come on now..... I want a BPO laser rifle!!!! |

IDK about you guys but id sure be willing to pay 50$ if they slap on the golden LAV BPO and maybe 10k AUR, something like that would be SWEET! |

if it were just the 7 BPO items, sure I would pay 50$ maybe an extra 25-40$ for the physical items. But 150$ is to much and I don't want any of the Eve stuff. I don't like playing Eve and there's nothing that will change that and I am pretty sure that I am not alone in this. I feel like this is just a money grab and that's just wrong. that is what scares away players. |

Well the collectors addition for eve is a..... collectors addition. Its going to be expensive and as such only a few people are going to grab it. The items available in the pack suggested above would be worth it in my opinion. Not to mention that this is a business.... and well.... businesses are supposed to make money |

Yes. I was planning to buy the 150 dollars one just for the Dust items. Sadly, they don't ship to Israel. Giving me a digital option to get the specific items I want sounds perfect. |

its like a [some whatever name title] decides to put out a collectors edition for the consoles and just go you know what lets make it for multi consoles but have different items limited to different consoles and lets put a big sticker price on it because well it has a lot on it then go ahead and only sell its on one console's market place as one super bundle without any other offers to get it.
basically that's what they just done in a nut shell.. does that seem like a good move to do? in fact other games that do a collectors edition do small packages. |

I'm very bothered by the fact that CCP put so many permanent DUST BPO's in that set. And not just for "collector items". The LR, AR, and pistol are all standard Dust gear that should also be available in the market and not JUST available in some rare, expensive collection set. The EVE ship counter parts are all limited run BPCs, the dust items should be too.
Sadly everything's pretty set and there's no turning back now.
Anyways, I'd love to see a Dust collector's set. The one problem is that if we do get our own Dust set, the EVE players with no interest in Dust will want their own EVE only set without any of the Dust stuff. And if we got our own set it's hard to deny the EVE players theirs. Then the whole spirit of the 10 year set is ruined and the whole world falls to pieces. |

Fact of the matter is this ... the Eve Online Collectors Edition is a boxset collectable edition of Eve Online ... not DUST.
It is in celebration of Eves 10th anniversary and is a very reasonable price for what you're getting ... disagree ... go look up the prices those collectible battleship models sold for a few years ago, without the USB hub addition.
In response to Rasatsu ... No it's not a decade yet ... but it will be on the 14th long before the boxset is available in September ! This is a pre-order.
And in response to those wanting a DUST version ... someone has already said if they release a DUST only version they will have to release an Eve only version and there will be no point to the boxset.
Also this is for people who have played Eve for a long time and want some physical collectibles as well as some ingame collectibles and some DUST ingame vanity items for those that play DUST aswell.
You will probably see plenty of these Amarr Templar items given out in the event that's coming up after the new build releases anyway and there will likely eventually be a way to trade or sell those DUST items that the Eve only players don't want, but expect a very heavy isk price tag ... Eve players don't like the idea that DUST has infinite use items as there's no industry in making them. |

There's an Amazon.com listing at $150.00 US dollars, though I don't see mention of the preorder stuff (Droplink in the case of Dust). It has a preorder price guarantee, in case they're totally confused about the price at the moment. |

I didnt realise WoW and CoD were made by the same company, if they are then why not promote one from the other using a boxset of your long term subscription game with some items included to entice your players to try your other game.
I really don't see why you people have a problem with this ... if you want the items buy the boxset ... if you can't afford it get a job ...if you don't want the Eve items tuff, they're part of the set.
Do you go to a video shop and say I want the boxset of some TV show but I don't want season 2 ... would you go to the supermarket to buy a microwave meal n want to cut the pack in half cos you don't want the rice !
The Eve side debate doesn't come into it ... they're complaint is they can't buy iit for PLEX ... the DUST items are just a minor part of the set, many of them want a digital version or a version without the boardgame etc. but guess what ... that's the package being sold. If I want to buy a Ford Focus but I don't want the doors do you thini they'd remove them and reduce the price !?
