Fact of the matter is this ... the Eve Online Collectors Edition is a boxset collectable edition of Eve Online ... not DUST.
It is in celebration of Eves 10th anniversary and is a very reasonable price for what you're getting ... disagree ... go look up the prices those collectible battleship models sold for a few years ago, without the USB hub addition.
In response to Rasatsu ... No it's not a decade yet ... but it will be on the 14th long before the boxset is available in September ! This is a pre-order.
And in response to those wanting a DUST version ... someone has already said if they release a DUST only version they will have to release an Eve only version and there will be no point to the boxset.
Also this is for people who have played Eve for a long time and want some physical collectibles as well as some ingame collectibles and some DUST ingame vanity items for those that play DUST aswell.
You will probably see plenty of these Amarr Templar items given out in the event that's coming up after the new build releases anyway and there will likely eventually be a way to trade or sell those DUST items that the Eve only players don't want, but expect a very heavy isk price tag ... Eve players don't like the idea that DUST has infinite use items as there's no industry in making them. |

ladwar wrote:dust has had never zero to do with eve in so why put dust items in an eve package. its like WoW releasing special characters and just to raise the price add in CoD guns, its like WTF really? those dust items should not be there, that what makes a lot dust player mad and some of the eve ones to. I didnt realise WoW and CoD were made by the same company, if they are then why not promote one from the other using a boxset of your long term subscription game with some items included to entice your players to try your other game.
I really don't see why you people have a problem with this ... if you want the items buy the boxset ... if you can't afford it get a job ...if you don't want the Eve items tuff, they're part of the set.
Do you go to a video shop and say I want the boxset of some TV show but I don't want season 2 ... would you go to the supermarket to buy a microwave meal n want to cut the pack in half cos you don't want the rice !
The Eve side debate doesn't come into it ... they're complaint is they can't buy iit for PLEX ... the DUST items are just a minor part of the set, many of them want a digital version or a version without the boardgame etc. but guess what ... that's the package being sold. If I want to buy a Ford Focus but I don't want the doors do you thini they'd remove them and reduce the price !?

Just imagine if EVE got BPO thrashers, so you get blown up but ther it is back in your hanger ready to go PVP again essentailly it wouldnt be EVE, EVE has always had BPC and also giving you just 1 ship but if you blow it up its gone, its a unique item and with BPO in EVE you have to make the ship also
In DUST we die a hell of alot in general, a BPO is more useful to us and they have already given us quite a few of em as event prizes, i would expect more packs for BPO items but most likely these are basic items and wont really turn DUST upside down not as much as it would in EVE Err there is BPO's in EVE, they are extremely rare (In most cases).. I have a Venture one :) BPOs in Eve are far from rare ... there are billions of them for sale on the market ... I have thousands of them in assets in my home station and many of them cost a pittance.
What are rare in Eve are T2 BPOs that sell from 6 bil isk up beyond around 20 bil for one that's actually profitable and on into the 100+ bil for a very good one.
The difference is BPOs in Eve still have a manufacture cost in materials, time and station/pos expenses, so they are not an unlimited free supply of an item like they (currently) are in DUST. |

it does not matter if they are made by the same company it still holds true. would you pay 200$ for the next CoD game just because it has some WoW stuff in it if you never want to play WoW and can't even sell it. box set for tv are also sold by seasons so what is your point here? that you are dumb then yes you proved that one right. Needless Sacermendor wrote: ... would you go to the supermarket to buy a microwave meal n want to cut the pack in half cos you don't want the rice !
comparing something that's 70 cents to something that 200 dollars is pointless Needless Sacermendor wrote: The Eve side debate doesn't come into it ... they're complaint is they can't buy it for PLEX ... the DUST items are just a minor part of the set, many of them want a digital version or a version without the boardgame etc. but guess what ... that's the package being sold. if the dust stuff wasn't in there it would be cheaper and would not be as bad as it is now. btw if I didn't want the doors on it I would have the typed of doors I want changed understandable for some more cash because its for safety. the dust items should not even be on there. its like the car dealer trying to sell you a 1foot pool for 8,000 dollar and saying its a deal of a life time as an addon to buying a car that you must buy in order to buy any car in the lot. What !? You're missing the point ... maybe it's my bad analogies ... try this one ... When you buy a graphics card for your computer that comes with a free game ... do you cry to the manufacturers that you didn't want the game and you can't sell it and demand they release a cheaper version without the free game, or more like what youre asking for the graphics card manufacturer to sell you the free game because you don't want to buy the graphics card.
The free game in that scenario is a physical item on a disk and has manufacture costs and transportation costs and taxation throughout its journey to your purchase. The digital items, both Eve and DUST, in this boxset are costless items to CCP that they have bundled in with a costly boxset of books, CDs and physical ship models.
To answer some of your questions ...
No I wouldn't pay -ú5 for a gold cased box set of CoD but I couod understand them promoting their new free to play expansion on CoD buy including some digital items for it in a CoD boxset that CoD players would be interested in buying ... we are talking about an Eve boxset here with items for Eves expansion called DUST.
Has it been confirmed that you can't sell the codes or buy the set and sell the Eve stuff on ebay ?
I'm dumb !? ... I'm not the one crying about not being able to buy what I want, when I want and how I want ... like I said originally Self Entitled !
That wasnt a comparison, it was an analogy (google it if you failed english)
And what that was all about with the 8, 000 dollar pool and a car lot I have no idea, do car dealerships sell pools on your planet. ? |

I too would love to see a collectors edition for DUST ... but if any one of you can offer the name of anything ever that has released a special edition or box set or collectors edition of something that is still in BETA stages please let us know as it's just a ridiculous idea.
I don't doubt there will 'eventually' be a DUST boxset or collectors edition, likely at a similar price with one of those merc busts they showed briefly at Fanfest and a board game and a book written about the DUST side of the lore and a load of other stuff you people won't want and all these threads will start again of people complaining they don't want this n that n that CCP should provide a different version of it tailor made to their individual requirements and at a price that fits with their jobseekers allowance ! |
