Marston VC wrote:I posted this in the Feedback and request section already, but id like to see how much you guys would support something like this. During fanfest CCP announced an EVE collectors addition, it costs 150$ and comes with a variety of different things. Some of this stuff is unique dropsuit and weapon BPO's that I would REALLY like to have, but theres also a TON of eve stuff that would be almost useless to me.
So what I proposed is that CCP makes a "Dust 514 collectors pack" or something like this. It would cost 50$ and would give us the fancy amarr stuff in the EVE collectors pack, plus maybe the golden LAV you can only get by getting a PS super slim. This to me is a great way for them to make extra money without having to do much at all (aside from putting it up on the PS store). AND it would save me the 100 extra dollars because I wouldn't be getting the eve related items. I mean.... im a dust merc so why would I want 5 bpo's for a ship that i'll never fly? or a book going over the lore of eve? things like that which really don't have a big connection to me.
What do you guys think? good idea? or bad idea? im looking to get some support for this idea because as more people agree with it, the bigger the chance CCP will make it happen.
I just saw the listing on this item, it's pretty crazy stuff, relative to the sort of BPOs that are available now. I assume it's all Tier 1 at least:
Amarr "Templar" Assault Dropsuit Amarr "Templar" Logistics Dropsuit Amarr "Templar" Heavy Dropsuit Amarr Scrambler Pistol Amarr Scrambler Assault Rifle Amarr Laser Rifle & Amarr Droplink
Three suit BPOs, and what would be the only non-militia BPO that exists so far. New/different Medium-frame BPOs, also Tier 1 I'd assume. Two weapons that don't have non-militia BPOs: Scrambler pistol/rifle, and one that has no BPO at all (or militia version) the laser. The droplink would be another item that has no non-militia BPO.
So, that's pretty insane. It's also... really really Amarr-focused, which sort of sucks for people that aren't big fans of them.
I agree with you though, I have no interest in EVE stuff, and would prefer a cheaper package that's Dust-specific. I wouldn't mind something with history/background of the universe, but I have a feeling that the digital items are the main draw for most Dust players. The other things like the board game or USB hub... uh.. I don't know that I really need that stuff. |

Ryder Azorria wrote:The tribute suits are standard BPOs btw. ('Sever' Logistics, 'Raven' Assault and the 'Valor' Scout suits)
EDIT: The 'Exile' AR, 'Toxin' SMG and 'Daemon' Shotgun are standard weapon BPOs available with various packs.
Basically standard BPOs are not without precedent, and Amarr is completely unrepresented, so the BPOs in the collectors edition are not totally insane.
Totally insane in volume I think. To get all the other BPOs requires, what? Three marketplace purchases (not sure of the cash equivalent, but they're.. 11800 Aurum a piece.. or something like that? The Exile is in the starter pack, that's $10, the Toxin is in the Merc, that's $20, the Syndicate is in the Gamestop Merc which is also $20, Dragonfly is in any Merc pack, and the Daemon wasn't released stateside that I'm aware of.
This is two standard light weapon BPOs (laser/scrambler), one sidearm standard BPO (scrambler), 1 standard heavy suit BPO (doesn't exist otherwise), 1 logistics & 1 assault standard BPO, and a droplink BPO (only standard equipment BPO that exists). That's a pretty crazy amount of stuff in one place (and it would be nice to have a less exorbitant price option to get the stuff). |

There's an Amazon.com listing at $150.00 US dollars, though I don't see mention of the preorder stuff (Droplink in the case of Dust). It has a preorder price guarantee, in case they're totally confused about the price at the moment. |
