Judging from the gameplay, its not ready. And considering the BASIC things that are listed on the "near future" list, yeah.... Can you be a bit more specific about gameplay elements and features needed for the game to have a successful launch in the eyes of reviewers?

HTFU? competing against CoC and BF AND killzone? free doesn't matter, people will give it ONE try and leave. potential means s.hit against CoD BF, AND KZ all those games listed are **** , ccp is bringing a whole new flavor of console fps , not just some fps with a campaign and multiplayer with no story and no bridge between pc and console , if people dont appreciate what ccp is doing they dont need to be here, |

If they keep it free to play, keep updating, keep lobbies full I'll keep with it. Not a CCP fanboy, by the way. I just want a shooter with 0:00 time devoted to storyline and continuous skill provement. Console games typically allow you to max out your character too quick and 100% storyline with another year waiting for speculation of a release of the glittery unicorn spinkled sequel where your experience doesn't transfer. I don't think its good enough for release, but I haven't played Uprising. I am pessimistic. I suspected Uprising would be the final beta build before a big, shiny PS4 full release version. From everything I see, it doesn't qualify as a complete game and doesn't deserve to be treated as such. As far as attracting past and future players, this is a PSN marketing problem. PSN store UI is awful. DL times are ridiculous. I look for demos and free games often, and didn't catch 514 til December or January. Dust Devs are on the right track. And it seems like if something is not working out, they do work to fix it (just not as fast as our instant serve society has come to expect) |

Can you be a bit more specific about gameplay elements and features needed for the game to have a successful launch in the eyes of reviewers? As I said, everything in the "Near future" plans CCP had. Waiting one more year for Dust 514 to make proper first impressions will benefit this game a lot. |

SPECIFICS Do you just mean you want Dust to launch with more content? like the full set of racial dropsuits, vehicles, and rifles? Or is it some other near future thing? |

Something like that. There is more to it. Given more time the game will be polished more and more, I doubt in 3 months they managed to make Dust feel a lot better. The shooting isn't working well, and this is a First Person Shooter...
They need to work on it to make it feel like an AAA shooter. Right now it feels like an indie project that they adopted and didn't improve much besides adding super servers behind it. |

HTFU?
This is exactly the kind of WalMart philosophy that's gonna hurt this game. "people will play any sort of garbage as long as it's free'.
I'd rather pay a 10$/month subscription fee and have quality product delivered to me than waste my free time on half-baked stuff. |

Dust has enough content for a decent launch with the new items Uprising brings, I don't see how reviewers could find the amount of guns, suits, and vehicles lacking; it is a solid start. As for the shooter mechanics (which is still vague and nonspecific), like I said before, it is too early to make the judgement since we haven't actually played Uprising yet. |

I'm talking about feeling. Go to another shooter and go back to Dust. Dust feels clunky and bad in general, just bleh. You can't be specific when it comes to overall feeling, because its overall. And I talked with ReGnUM on IRC, he said the game feels the same in that regard. |

The players that will play Gears COD BF will play that regardless.
That doesnt mean they wont play Dust. As others said they may play sporadically while allowing their char. to gain SP.
And I agree with Dust Fiend - if the game is free then there really is no worry. For people saying they will pay a subscription - are you willing to continue to play when content delivery or balance issues arent coming down the pipe as fast as you want ?

I want public first impressions to be good. If you would actually read what I said you would know I'm not complaining about the speed.

Maybe its the lack of sensitivity acceleration with the controls for smooth aiming. I made a thread about that before, CCP was paying attention, but I don't know if they're planning on doing anything about it. Perhaps not enough people shared my views on the issue. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=59526&find=unread Here is the thread in case you're intrested, tell me if its the issue with the feeling of the game. |

I don't know. But there are many many more problems that go to general feel. For example, ever brushed against a wall while running and then getting pushed back? Or being jumpy for no reason on a structure? Things like that happen far too often. |

I read your rant and then skimmed the rest of the thread
From what I've read and seen of Uprising - If that is launched as a free game with load times kept to a minimum and an extensive orientation play/ tutorial (explaining choice and consequences and what does what) then it can be successful.
Anyone expecting challenging the big games is delusional, that also isnt a determining factor of success for CCP. |
