Assault players will be able to choose any race they like. As a Caldari Loyalist this bothers me. Will I get to respec when the Caldari Heavy is introduced?

No, you train both. Amarr first, Caldari later; then you're ready for when Amarr is FOTW down the line due to getting its own racial heavy weapon. The skill tree is only so deep, and most heavy support skills apply to all heavies. The only real thing you'll need to train is the dropsuit skill, which TBH isn't that bad.

Also didn't they say they changed it so you simply level up in small, medium, and heavy dropsuits? So if you level in heavies you can use the Amarr for now but switch to Caldari when they arrive without needing a respec, I believe.

It could take another 2.4M SP to skill into a new suit.

If they remove sharpshooter we wont have a chance against proto assault or lodgie's. I'm thinking real hard of hanging up my HMG it sucks but i suspect i wont be the last we will be an endangered species because of all the wining abount heavys being OP. Been a long time since ive seen a thread on that subject. Maybe we need to start a AR/Assault are OP thread. LOL

Statistics aside, some people like myself enjoy the RP aspect of sticking with a faction (Gallente, for me), and will likely skill into that just to represent their race. In short, there's absolutely nothing wrong with holding on to your SP for a week if it means you might get to skill into the suit you want. We don't really know what is being launched when though, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Going into PC without reallocating your SP will probably not be a good idea if you want to succeed. Some may want to spec into another secondary suit instead of being redundant with two heavies.

I only have one option. i totally agree with this, every time new types of suits that have their own skill requirements come out, we will be needing a reset, otherwise i'm going to be running around in militia suits for a VERY long time

Sorry but if CCP lets heavies get a respect then scouts will need one when racial variants are fleshed out and not to mention that VEHICLES which has the highest training multiplier will have to get a respec when the 2 other variants are added. Personally speaking as a tank guy it doesnt bother me ill train a 2nd tank the core skills will carry over, sure its a pain but w/e not something to really warrant a special reset for all u know the new suits could come 6 months down the line by that time im sure u will have alot of SP to burn Anyway if CCP gives a respec then the other roles that dont got all 4 variants (vehicles included) will need a respec because its only fair.
