I tasted the rainbow and threw up a little...

Since this leaked due to someone pressing a button early I think we get to comment on it anyway. I have two serious issues with this picture:
1. This is New Eden where the overriding theme is "cold, dark, and harsh."
2. I can find more camouflage on EVE starships than I can on these vehicles.
What soldier is his right mind would drive around in brightly painted vehicles? The idea is to blend in to the landscape. This picture shows two HAVs with camo, which is great. How about we try applying that stuff to the rest of them and dropsuits too?
The Quafe pink suits were a publicity stunt by a soft drink company. I can deal with that. The rest of these colors need to GB2WoW where they belong. Get your Icelandic art team involved and let them stomp out this plague of color before it goes any farther.

Bro, we go into battle in convertibles. Clearly we are not in our right mind as it is. Besides colored camouflage by color doesn't mean much when we have a little red blip over our heads. |

Just because you show up on tacnet when in range of the enemy doesn't mean this should turn into My Little Pony. I can see using a more aggressive color palette but bright, happy sunshine colors is lame. |

But that's why we need to be able customize the colors of dropsuits and vehicles. |

Just picture 7 LAVs rolling down a hill, rainbow coloured, with mercs in reverse rainbow coloured dropsuits manning the turrets, towards you. If that doesn't make you kitten your pants, I don't know what will. |

your team does not have to USE ALL THE COLOURS! the devs just gave us options:
i could imagine a fleet of alternating yellow LAV, black LAV of goon swarm (or any other bee themed group)
or
i could see a whole corp decide that neon "green death" was their thing and only fit vehicles of that colour.

I won't be kittening my pants. I'll be turning off the game.

If the Goons/Immobile Infantry want to roll out in all black with yellow trim that's cool. If the battlefield turns into a mass of neon colors the stylistic theme of New Eden just took a big dump. |

You are assuming that actual camouflage would do anything in this day and age, and you would most likely be horribly wrong. Even though the game doesn't show it, New Eden would be ridiculously advanced to the point where actually using your eyes would be like using a rotary telephone in this day and age. Advanced thermal optics and scanner systems would only be countered with other highly advanced technological solutions.
The only point to actual coloration of your armor would be about whatever increased your morale, as increased morale would also increase proficiency.

Wait so your against players choosing to be a mobile neon light show all together just because New Eden is a "dark" place?

First line on the left (Caldari HAVs)
1. Dark grey colour. Nice and flat and easily lost in the background of an industrial facility. Particularly when using Caldari colours on the facility. 2. Desert camo. If you can't figure out where this one hides, this isn't my fault. ...rest are lost in the background.
Middle line (Gallente HAVs)
1. Forest green. This is obviously well-suited to concealment in or neat plantlife, or on almost any standard Gallente Green background. 2. Green and white. This is pretty clearly designed for - once again - the ability to blend in against a common Gallente colour scheme. It would also be relatively inconspicuous for a polar region with a lot of rocks, or any other snowy region. 3. Blue and dark grey. This is much like the Caldari HAV's #1 option - good for industrial facilities, and particularly for Caldari facilities which more commonly use such a colour scheme. 4. Desert camo. As with Caldari #2.
Far-right line (1 - 4 Caldari LAVs, 5 - 8 Gallente LAVs)
1. Standard Caldari colours, as covered in previous dark grey descriptions. 2. Dessert camo. Not "desert" camo. This paint scheme is particularly suited to hiding in banana splits. 3. Lighter blue. This is good for disguising your LAV against the sky when landing it on someone after getting a good jump. 4. Red paint job. This, logically, should act as a built-in afterburner module. Who needs camo when you're FAST? 5. Gallente green paintjob. This appears to be a Gallente LAV, but I'm not sure. 6. Dessert camo again. 7. This looks like - once again - the Gallente equivalent of the Caldari/industrial colour scheme. Not sure though, it's far in the back and dull enough to blend into the others a little. 8. Light green. This is suited to camolage in lighter coloured plant-life, or an alternative dessert camo, this time for hiding in lime-flavoured jelly.
I can see valid camouflage uses for most options. And not-so-valid uses for the rest. |

We have the technology present in the game and is represented by Tacnet. Wolfman has indicated that scanning has been reworked and improved including the ability to reduce your profile. Visual scanning is already important with targets only appearing if they are very close or you are looking right at them. As terrain becomes more detailed and cluttered the color of your gear will influence how likely you are to be noticed by the enemy. |

Well except for the fact that all gear in this age would probably be equipped with the same cloaking technology as from the commercial of Future Soldier. They just can't incorporate that because of balance issues. So again, color would go out the window again as color wouldn't be projected. And what fool wouldn't run a cloaked suit.. Aha but you might say, "It will increase your sensor visibility?!?!" To that I would say, there are many sensors that also use location appropriate technology and cloaking would defeat those as well. There are also multiple forms of cloaking,
This is all just the lore perspective mind you. I know colors in the battles will make a difference. |

This is a good point but when you line them all up it looks more like NASCAR than military. That yellow is pretty bright though. The color schemes on the HAVs are so much better.

you've got no idea, the HAVs are already showing camouflages in that picture (urban, desert, night, and a "clean lab style" and the LAVS are obviously hinting at a LAV-RACE MODE see all those colors for the different teams!
