Ok so I've read stuff in forums about sp resetting to 0, sp refunds and autumn refunds. What is going on? I haven't seen a single post about any of this from ccp except stating that sp would be refunded on may 6 with PC arrival. Where are all these people getting their info? CCP really should state what is going to happen and set it in stone so all the n00bs don't spread misinformation and enrage people for no reason. |

SP refund is the only thing happening for certain. The rest is speculation on what will happen with the merc pack controversy. I don't need to explain that here, it can be explained in one of the other thirty threads devoted to that topic. |

For the most part it is speculation. Which on these forums speculation can spark quite a debate. Just wait for what CCP has to say, don't stress. |

CCP really should state what is going to happen and set it in stone so all the n00bs don't spread misinformation and enrage people for no reason. There was an article where CCP managed to screw up their choice of words, and make it sound like Uprising will be the official release of the game, when they were trying to say they're looking forward to the release of the Uprising build. Apparently those are easy to get mixed up for some people, and at least one of those people works for CCP in a role where careful choice of words is normally a prerequisite for the job.
Because of that "release" rumour, a discussion that's been going on since we came into open beta has gone from being a fringe discussion to blowing up in all our faces.
When we came out of closed beta, CCP announced "no more resets" and said we're keeping al our stuff, Aurum, etc.
That was cool, EXCEPT that people were looking at the description on the Merc Pack, and noticed that it promises a "credit" of its contents (which includes Aurum and some unique limited-run gear) at every reset AND at commercial release. CCP had announced last reset, and specifically stated that it WASN'T commercial release yet.
As people were figuring all this out, CCP changed the wording on the Merc Pack to no longer offer the reset on commercial release, so we were left wondering if those of us who bought Merc Packs before the change would have the conditions of our purchase honoured, or if we would be lumped in with the new conditions that aren't actually what we paid for.
So far, CCP have been avoiding any commenting on the matter, so pretty much everything is speculative arguments over legalities that most of us don't know enough about to say for sure what's going to happen, but the current unofficial story is that CCP have a "reimbursement" plan of some kind that they're working on. |

"unofficial" as in, CCP have only stated that they are implementing a "reimbursement plan" in threads here on the forum.

Nothing at all. It is just a bunch of angry little kids demanding that consumers be punished.
Those people getting what they paid for would be just the same as the people who bought multiple merc packs when they only cost $10 each. Well outside the fact that they would have to wait to get the benefit of the 2nd merc pack.
Whether or not that is what CCP intended isn't really relevant as how they worded the item description of their product and their choice to sell it while the game was in Beta, or simply put while it was still an unfinished product. |

No, CCP Eterne (at least, I'm pretty sure it was Eterne... certain it was a CCP employee posting from a CCP account) has already stated in at least one thread that this is what they are doing. That's where the "rumor" came from. A post by a CCP Dev in one of these threads telling us that they will be rolling out a "Reimbursement Program" that we will be "hearing more about SOON(tm)" (paraphrasing, obviously). |

I would imagine the nuking of threads to be due to the repititious nature of the threads and probably to reduce the amount of personal attacks that are coming from it. |

I don't know where it "originally came up" but Eterne made a post, that is now deleted, specifically stating that there would be a reimbursement program for the Merc Pack. Looking back through the dev posts, I can tell you that it was during Eterne's posting on 04/15 around 9 pm (currently page 2). I didn't want to say I was 100% certain, because there's been a lot of traffic on this issue, but Sloth (who is on the "opposite" side of this issue) has confirmed that he too remembers it being Eterne, and I can reconstruct based on the other posts he made at the time that was the specific time frame that it was posted.
The fact that they have now deleted the post is worrisome though.
This is PRECISELY the problem with CCP and this game. It's one thing to communicate poorly about the F2P stuff, but you gotta be clear when you are TAKING PEOPLE'S MONEY about what you are giving them in return. |

I am not sure that I recall the post the same as you guys.
Are we talking about the thread asking why the no reset sticky was removed?
If so, I think that Eterne said that there would be a blog posted on the subject, not confirm a reimbursement program.

Well, if they have started to expunge dev comments, this isn't getting dealt with anytime soon.
Buckle up for a long haul guys.
Well, at least until Uprising drops. Then we will see if the game is even worth worrying about for the next year or so. Given what I was reading in IRC earlier, people are going to be super upset when the skills or suit blog show up, if they show up at all.
If you add in that anger into this issue, it could get bad, and quick. |
