I'll pretend you're being serious...
Even if a new player trades for advanced gear, that doesn't mean they could use it. You can get advanced gear in salvage and not use it, so there's no reason that items traded from other players would work any differently. The game shouldn't keep track of what was salvage and what was purchased in shop and what was traded once it hits your inventory. If you don't meet the prerequisites, it'll be a red "invalid fit."
As a sniper, I'd love to see newberries in protos just so I could kill em and get a nice fluffy payday. |

In an interview they said opened trade with EVE won't happen until the 2 economies start to balance out, and initially there will be a (temporary) tax so we don't get the full benefit of the ISK from EVE. http://www.twitch.tv/ccp/b/385675642
There should be no problems with Dust players trading with other Dust players though. |

Where is the ISK coming from? Surely the person trading that juicy Proto gear want a ISK in return for that item.
How is the buyer keeping the ends meet?
One way would be to do a direct item to item(s) transfer, but that requires both parties to aagree on that it's a good transaction. The Proto gear being sold must be gotten from market by the seller with ISK or from salvage.
But here is the thing; at any given match even if and especially if everyone is running a Proto gear the combined ISK value destroyed in match will be greather than salvage aquired. Barring rare occasions where there is high number of officer gear dropped that players want to buy at very high premium price. But then again, how are those players keeping up with the ISK flow?
Are you predicting that ammount of kills is drastically dropping if everyone is running with proto gear and thereby lowering the ammount of ISK destroyed?
Where and what is the ISK faucet that is going to make everybody so filthy rich that they can ignore ISK efficiency? |

Trading between DUSTers wont affect anything, sure there will be a few more suits around and we'll be able to get a few chepies from corp mates/straight swaps 'A-type' for 'a-type's ect but the real trouble is transfer of isk between eve and dust. there is a lot more isk in eve and i cant see transfer between the two happening too soon. even the poorer individuals (myself) are in possession of 3-4billion isk and probably triple that in assets. corps/alliances will have to purchase installations which wont come cheap but for individuals it could make for some very rich dust players if they send 1bill to their dust alt they can run the most expensive gear for years without having to worry |

Market trading will be important for many reasons, much of which has already been discussed over the past year. You, my dear OP, will also start wanting trading anyways once the market opens up and the price of fitting proto will be so high I won't be surprised that a full proto suit will cost 10 million ISK. Possibly, but they will have to pay ISK to buy those items, or trade rare items for them.
It will still incur a cost if they die.
Also, even if people do start running round in AUR suits, etc., the higher level players (not me by any means), will by and large have more ISK and salvage stores and will therefore trade for stuff they want too.
The gap will be maintained, albeit it will be a more competitive gap.
Although, I currently have a hard time keeping enough ISK to buy my damage mods and Kaalakiota SR's in store, so I doubt many new players will have an abundance of ISK...unless they farm >.>...
Then there is the question of trading AUR items for ingame items, (which I intend to do), I personally think this is the whole point of the market.
Person A has AUR, but no Thales.
Person B has Thales but is unwilling to buy AUR.

Do you even play this game? What would have to trade for proto gear in the first place? If they try and buy it on the open market, they probably won't be able to afford it. And if the die, they lose their gear regardless where they bought unless they get revived. |

I dont get the point of this thread. But an interesting point has come out of it, but one everyone should have been mentally prepared for. ISK in EVE is a lot more plentiful then it is in DUST. It would be pretty trivial to set up your DUST mercs with the good life via a little EVE playing.
But im pretty sure thats half the point. Using the free DUST to get people into the monthly fees of EVE. |
