Even if a new player trades for advanced gear, that doesn't mean they could use it. You can get advanced gear in salvage and not use it, so there's no reason that items traded from other players would work any differently. The game shouldn't keep track of what was salvage and what was purchased in shop and what was traded once it hits your inventory. If you don't meet the prerequisites, it'll be a red "invalid fit."

As a sniper, I'd love to see newberries in protos just so I could kill em and get a nice fluffy payday.
