Im conflicted. Ive ran a jack of all trades style so far, which works great as long as tankers dont blow supply depots and I can switch loadouts.
Great to set up some guage uplinks around bases as a low profile scout, then hack a supply and switch to a heavy HMG to murder anyone around the base and camp the spawn until reinforcements arrive, then switch to an assault LR to kill folks coming to recap.
But I just made an alt and pumped points into a more focused role of Assault/LR/SMG and i already love the level III LR (my main is only at II).
I think I will get rid of some stuff I absolutely never use, but still pretty much roll with a generic bunch of skills. Perhaps swap the points from AR and LR to switch to more of a LR role. Then again, Im pretty sure LR will be nerfed soon, so maybe not. |

I won't even get to play the game for at least an hour, I have to sit down and just digest the new skill system.
I'll have about 5.5M (ish) to play with, so I'm going shotgun stealth scout, along with all my core skills. A little bit of AV, some uplinks and hives, and I'll be pretty damn happy.
But yea, I'll be putting together my tutorials shortly after Uprising, to help people get into a descent "starter" fit within a few hours, without wasting SP on useless things. |

I will do alot of the same thing i did when open beta came out. Get field mechanics to V shield control to 5 and circuitry and combat engineering to 5.
After that, Probably put a few points back into forget gunning but the rest ill just keep in standby and grind away till either something exciting for me comes out. |

1 time tanker, allways tanker. I will stick with my sagaris. Eventually we will get new tanks/turrets but the shield tank-railgun combo is just unbeatable. I would even guess that you will see more tanks then proto suits when this happends. |

Im honestly debating about investing in the proto right away. The 1 thing Im considering changing. then again, I rarely use proto heavy so its at least feasible that I put it off.
although... not a whole lot im missing at this point regarding skills and the order I would want them.

They're revamping the whole skill tree, might very well mean that proto suits have some nasty skill requirements.

too much stacked against pilots. i recently lost 5 griminess and none of them were to enemy fire.. 3 were rammed by RDVs, 1 internal server error, 1 hardfreeze. if my ship does survive all that crap i recieve a whopping 70K isk.. i can do without the SP but the isk factor is a freaking outrage trying to grind isk as a pilot when your 500k isk ships are being lost to BS is not worth it. i've really had it with CCPs sht against the dropship and if may 6th is a joke that can't distract me from flying then i'm done.
on top of all that the frame rate micro freezing for pilots is just outrageous |

Hopefully, we'll get advanced notice of what the new skill tree will look like so that we can do some proper New Eden Spreadsheets and plan this out correctly.
My current skills aren't too bad and I plan on rebuilding my skills to match what I have now. I don't have much spent in secondary roles or useless stuff. The month we have between now and Uprising should be enough to earn my prototype dropsuits.
That being said, I will be spending points on core fitting skills first, max out the logistics tools and then one weapon to prototype. After that I'll balance between defense and suit skills, going for prototype level armor, at least advanced level shields and finally prototype level dropsuit.
Having around 8.5 million SP by May 6th should get me most if not all of those skills depending on how things are changed. |

To add to my "no"-speculation earlier, I actually suspect, rather than seeing more proto-suits, we'll see more complaint threads about how proto-suits are underpowered and new complaint threads about people wanting to re-re-spec. |

I've already got solid core skills due to DS flying. I'm still in a standard Logi dropsuit (SVER) with medium equipment skills and one single weapon (MD) with 6m SP. I was saving toward a proto pilot suit, figuring I'd have the 2.4m additional by the 6th, but now I'll also be able to test out the Type A and burn through my salvage.
I figure the proto pilot suit can be treated like any other vehicle module. If you are already spending 800k ISK it makes sense to use the best to increase your survivability.
Of course that assumes flying will be useful/rewarding in the next build. If not I could just get comfortable in the Type A and boost my Logi equipment skills and ancillary dropsuit skills like hacking, endurance, profile, etc.
I'll probably rebuild my core skills on day one and save a few million SP for a few days to see how things settle out. |

I made a written skill plan back in january for my first 10 million sp(should have that week build comes out), I'll make changes to it based changes in skill tree and may swap swarm for plasma and ar for scrambler rifle, or not the 12,440sp to test each before deciding if I like it better then old option is cheap.
I may or may not have proto at that point, decision will be based on If I think having more variety of proto guns on adv suits for different condition and more support skills or one protosuit/weapon combo will be more effective/isk efficient. I would have proto just before build by current plan, newly added support/weapons may push it back to late may/early june. |

i already have 2 hyper-focused builds (tanker and logi, tanker is my main), i have to admit i love my surya, but i don't drop them all that often. i might get rid of AR 4, i don't use it very much... i'll probably keep the surya just because it sets me apart from the crowd. |
