When he used it against that sic a, it caused its turret to revert back to its default position. Much like how the charge emp blast of the plasma pistol does to vehicles in halo 4.
Now this is speculation as the clip was quite short. But if it is, then there are going to be a lot of vehicle tears in the next build. |

I think the HAV blew up. Someone said "take out the HAV", there were a few explosions, then it went black, as if it had been destroyed. Perhaps it was just reverted to its original model, as in, the turret pointing forwards. |

Scramblers use a laser to make the air conduct electricity(a plasma channel), then sent high voltage through the plasma channel. Real life version is called an electro-laser, not developed enough for practical use as weapon for at least another decade.
An emp is a pulse on em radiation that causes an electric current surge on metal surfaces by photo-electric effect.
Not the same, but both cause damage by applying an electric current onto target. They just send the current by a different method. So I would assume the effect on target of both would be almost identical, scrambler is just more targeted then emp would be. |

There will be new builds, each eve expansion is a new build of game with no option to play without it. No optional dlc expansions, each time one comes out you have to install it before playing, but they are free. Dust's dlc that cost money will be things like merc pack, expansions will be free new builds of game. |

I don't think EMP, or even EMP effects, will be used in the game. For one, everything in the game uses electronics. All the weapons, suits, vehicles, modules, they all use electronics in some form. To have a gun which has a disable feature, is a bit OP. Even if it is for half a second.
Besides, Sidhe, EMP isn't caused solely on metal surfaces - it's caused by electromagnetic fields, which penetrate the surface into the innermost components, as well as by gamma rays, which are hard to stop unless you have a thick layer of lead between you and the source. Can't imagine an electric current landing onto a tank's surface would do much more than electrify the surface of the tank, causing some surface damage, but hardly causing any internal electronic damage. |
