I've never seen MAG before, but LMFAO, please for the love of New Eden CCP; do not make DUST look like that. I understand that MAG had massive scale fights, and to that extent, yes, CCP needs to get their act together and give us some real multiplayer. But as far as the actual gameplay? Hahaha, yea, DUST is far more interesting already and it's still very young (aka, not even released)

I think he is only suggesting that DUST lacks the frantic, adrenaline pumping gameplay right now. Dust gameplay is slow with zero sense of urgency. |

DUST is nowhere near the level MAG was. MAG did so many basic things the right way, which made for a great game. There were bad things as well, but the good things outweigh those by far in my opinion. Dust is not that good gameplay wise, and seriously needs to step up bigtime, and soon.

Edit: Oh and no one is asking for Dust to be the exact same as MAG, but so many things are wrong in Dust at the moment. |

wow that was horrible game play. what a knifing ***** that was holly **** im glad i didn't play mag. you could get that type of rush from playing any game if you were good enough. i had a rush yesterday me vs 15 people and i won. |

That was back when the knife was practically a super charged samurai sword. They ended up nurfing it eventually, but thats not to say it wasn't good even after the nurf.... |

I loved MAG and I really like Dust but Dust's gameplay can't even compare to MAG's.
How is Dust gameplay far more interesting than MAG? I should have done a splitscreen of dust montage vs MAG montage. Dust's movements are slow and make for good battles to be far and few in between.
Seriously, what is exciting about Dust's gameplay? |

I'm sure you knew what montage I'd list..
Of course, Raptor's montage is a bunch of random Sabo matches whereas this montage is footage from scrimmages, but that was what made Sabotage worthwhile imo, good competition. These people at least shot back and weren't just being knifed in the back  |

DOn't come to this game and ask for it to be like MAG. Personally, I quit MAG two days after I rented it to try it out. It was just WAY too fast and the weapons balance was ******.
Dust has a great speed balance, finally. Makes for good squad fights. |

Honestly,I don't know why people keep comparing skirmish to domination.Skirmish is more like interdiction where you are encouraged to move from point to point,and not hold down one position for too long.
I'll totally agree with you though,gameplay wise,MAG is a much tighter game,whereas Dust still needs to work on it's overall mechanics.Shooting in Dust still feels a little clunky to me,and don't get me started on the vehicles.

Z gets ultimate credit for that montage because it was against known and good players. And by principle, Z would get my vote for best MAG montage.
But if you didn't know that those were good players and you were totally green to MAG....and placed Raptor's vid against Z's vid, then who's montage would look sicker? Raptor had killstreaks of 6 and 7 going on in that video. Z's montage is uber impressive because he may have had like 3 or 4 killstreaks going on but against really good players. |

Dude, **** MAG....although this video is from MAG, you guys are missing the point. This isn't a MAG>Dust thread. This is a thread showing what good gameplay looks like. If I knew a good BF3 infantry montage, then I would display it. Raptor's video came to mind because he made some epic montages in his day. |

Show me a dust montage that can compare. It's about taking the best, right? Well show me the best that Dust had to offer.
If you had to advertise Dust to another shooter to try and get him to play...what will you show him? If I wanted to showcase MAG, there are tons of good montages out there that will reflect the carnage in MAG. I wouldn't have to look hard.
And sure there may be some good Dust montages out there but compare the gameplay to others. Once again...this isn't a Dust hate thread, as I really like the game and I put hours into it. But you guys aren't helping by accepting mediocrity. I have guys that are really trying to enjoy the gameplay but really play just because our clan is active in it. I'm still trying to convince others to play but they just are not impressed yet. |
