Any kill you get from within a Redline does not affect stats and does not bring any WP.
You might say that this is unfair if a team gets redlined, but no, it isn't.
If a team gets redlined the thing they should be trying to do is get out of it, not switching to a snipers kit and trying to boost their K/D.
This is why I dont play Skirmish, its broken as hell. |

The reason people snipe from the redline isn't just because they don't have to worry about someone sneaking up behind them- the good sniper perches are in the redzone. |

This is why I dont play Skirmish, its broken as hell. Let's make it fair -- in every match two randomly picked weapons don't work or change stats or whatever. How would you feel about that?
If you can farm ones in the redline -- they can hurt you back. Sorry if it's too hard to understand.
Or were you angry about lack of help of your team? Bring your own squad, don't solo. I've said it before and I will say it again: red is enemy in the opposing team, blue is enemy in your team. Only green counts for anything.
Sniping is a valid strategy. Get on with the program.

Haha, no. Just no. That would make all kills from behind redline invalid, and if the other team has you behind redline, it would mean all your kills from that match were discounted, even if you were doing well.
It's very easy to counter a redline sniper. Simply snipe back. |

There are good sniper perches out of the redzone, you just have to get out and look.
As for the "You can shoot back" thing. What about Railgun Sniper tanks? Only thing that can really kill them is an Orbital in their base, they are outside Forge Gun range and if you do hit them, they just reverse back into cover.
Skirmish is broken and unless something is done to the redline, it will remain broken.
I think snipers when used right, can be a valid strategy.
Maybe it is a dumb idea, but compared to all the dumb ideas that have been introduced into Dust 514, this is nothing. |

If the game weren't so horribly imbalanced, then maybe (and pretty ******* big maybe too) you'd have some kind of argument.
But blaming snipers and tanks on the redline fighting is silly. |

Most cases knights with us, and we are redlining. It's not that we want to invalidate snipers it's just that 20 minutes of boring is boring. Hell I played a game on manus peak one time where we got B then fell back to C. Not once did the other team attempt to leave the redline.
I wouldn't go so far as to say you shouldn't get rewarded for getting kills in your redline (that would be a bit messed up)
I say after 5 minutes of consecutively holding all letters the redline should recede. Not completely, still protect the spawn but let us get right up to it, like suppression in mag. |

But that would make it even harder for the trapped team to break out, maybe the winning team should get bonus damage when they have the other team redlined (say have the game read redlined as 90% of the team behind the redline) they get increased damage against the MCC ending the match faster |

We still have spawn camping now, just at a slightly further distance than we would without the redline, so we'd be gaining a bit more spawn camping in exchange for removal of unflankable spots. |

The only *real* problem I have (I mean I'm cool with a redline honestly) is: 1. Snipers head glitching so far off that you can't suicide far enough into the redline to kill them, making them insanely difficult to kill. 2. Tanks are a problem. A tank is different from a player because it is so hard to kill besides with an orbital. Personally I think a solution to that would be the same solution I have for AFK farming. A timer. After the RDV drops it off you have 20-40 seconds to leave the redline. (AFK farm fix would be you have 20 seconds to leave the mcc, after that a lav can kill a farmer) |

1. *typical eve-tard response* this is new Eden.
2. *actual answer* I see your point. Maybe mcc should take more damage like you suggested. Instead of the redline leaving, the mcc takes more damage, ending the match faster. I mean I want the mode balanced better but at the same time a team should not be rewarded for doing bad. |

then your whole team would be free to kill it with a barrage of swarms, av and forge guns, giving us no safe heaven to get to and regroup if we fail to push you back, so no |

True but you're complaining that redlining is boring, in those cases the only fun thing is when the enemy attempt a breakout and everyone concentrates around a couple of area's to stop them. If you make it nearly impossible for them to break out, then they won't even try. |

If you know where to look it is easy to hunt the snipers with ARifle or Mass Driver. Snipers also look for cover & hight on the battle field, as shooting down at a target exposes the head and upper body to the shot. Some people are just better shots at distance.(basic range for Sniper rifle is 599m) if you spec into the light weapon sharpshooter and sniper rifle proficiency that range goes only higher. |

Killing people when they spawn is sooooo much fun. I don't care about playing games either. Just having a bigger number next to my name than the next guy no matter what. |

Assault forge gun and sitting there waiting for the rail tank to show his head again is boring and is near zero risk for the tank. i don't think rail tanks should be able to sit on the very inside edge of redline and snipe and pull back to total safety at the first shot aganst him. tried going after it got all of his shields down but the 20second thing killed me so if it were 60seconds that tank would of had been dead.
woot idea 60second instead of 20 second for redline. |

These have been some of the worst ideas I've heard. Remove all WP and SP from the redline? please. What about the non-sniping classes that get kills from the redline. Don't they deserve WP too? The solution to redline sniping is to adjust where the sniping perches are. You'll notice that in the Skim Junction map variations, redline sniping is rarely an issue. This is because there are no (really) good places to snipe from in the redline. In the other 3 maps: Ashland, Manus Peak and Line Harvest, all of these maps have hills, elevation and good cover to enable sniping behind the redline (Ashland not so much, but it is possible to do at the D/E7 hill). Simply alter the redline so that all of these locations are in the contested area and your redline issues will disappear. The most obvious example is the hill of F5/6 in Manus Peak. This is a great sniping location regardless of how your team is performing, making it very desirable. This happens to be in the redline which I think is a secondary consideration to the vantage point and ease of access from the MCC for most snipers. Change the redline and it will still be a great sniping spot, only it will be accessible and contestable by both teams. Avoiding a location like that so that you don't have an "unfair advantage" over the other team seems a bit counter intuitive, considering that you're trying to beat them.. |
