DUST Search - What questions would you ask a new player

Since DUST 514 doesn't really have clearly defined roles and people can be whatever they want. So new players have to pretty clearly _know_ what they want. Some folks haven't really thought about that. What questions would you have a new player answer to help them understand what they should focus on first? The answers should help point them to a set of rolls, skills and fits that gets them started having fun as quickly as possible.

But I was thinking about something like: "Do you get more fun out of up close and personal fights or doing your damage at a distance?" or "Do you like to go head-to-head or do you get more satisfaction from setting up your shot just right?" If the answer to the first one is yes and the second one is no you might want to recommend a shotgun scout. You are killing up close and personal but you have to manoeuvre to set up the shots if you want to be really effective. If the answer to the second on is yes you might want to suggest assault or submachine guns. I know there is legitimate argument over what to recommend but those are the kinds of questions I was thinking about. Sometimes people don't even know what to search for or what questions to ask.

It's a reasonable criticism to say that if players have to go through 20 questions just to get started we've lost them anyway. But you don't have to watch too many YouTube videos where some poor fool tries to shoot people in drop suits with the starter AV fit's swarm launcher to know we should explore any way we can to help people get started.

Do you enjoy wearing two sticks in your hands that kind of look like knives and thus a weapon, only to discover that they are back-scratching devices used to relief the discomfort of all those enemy fatsuits?
