So about the picking sides thing in the mercenary battles..... didn't we do that when we made our character? So if I picked caldari in the beginning am I thrown into the other side? I didn't actually check that today does anyone know if that is true or not? |

That would explain why some of the ambush matches today had like 2 minutes on the clock with like 60 clones per side left. People would que up a game and if they didn't like the side they were on left battle and qued again |

So mercs don-¦t have a mind? Why could we then choose alignment if it doesn-¦t matter at all? And have you thought of that the outcome of this may have an impact on further possibillities of earning bounty and might change the balance positively or negatively for all mercs depending on what corp they-¦re in? |

What I mean is mercenaries, by definition, fight for money or isk in this case. If you were meant to fight for one side or another then the game would be more along the lines of us fighting for the military of those particular factions. But instead we are mercenaries who in this situation are literally there to fill boots and make for flashy firefights. Embrace it, enjoy it. Its actually pretty fun to just sit back and see where the chips fall after I put in a little work on the field of battle. |

The beauty of it is that you can choose to align with a specific faction or go uber-loyal to one. Choice is the real luxury.  |

The Matchmaker cares not for your preference of date race unfortunatelly. You may end up fighting for Caldari as Gallente and vice versa. Better yet you may end up fighting your corpmates  Happened to me last night. Both cases  .
Hey it's not a bug it's a feature of being a mercenary. If you wanna fight for a cause you should join regular militia

But when they let me choose, I'm going to choose sides and make all you people regret it (even though half the people who wish this feature was already in are going to be choosing the same faction as me).

I would love to see choosing sides with different rewards as an outcome, which I imagine will happen with contracts. For game events like this one, it would be as simple as choosing a side and then getting the suits associated with that side (which would require you to get locked out of choosing the other side, otherwise people would have to play at least once for each side to get all the rewards). But for other instances, you might have the option of getting more ISK, or getting items (not necessarily rare items), or more faction points, e.g., Caldari are offering 100 faction points and 250k ISK, Gallente are offering 250 faction points and 150k ISK. |

In this particular situation my guy just wants to get paid for killing people. I love this game and I love the scope, there's nothing productive about saying "wah wah I can't pick my side! See? THIS is a reasonable argument.
Before you sounded like you were telling other people they aren't allowed to think for themselves and have a preference, and that because we're mercenaries, we shouldn't care. But then you said you're looking forward to having the option everyone else is wishing we already had.
Saying "it's coming, and until it does, just enjoy what you have" is a very different argument to "but you shouldn't care about that".
+1 to this post, but I'd be giving you dislikes on your others if that was an option. |

Woow it was awesome to see that huge spaceship crashesin the ground...even if it was a static image...but it was really impressive and makes me think 'bout how deep can go this concept 'bout connecting two different game, and how the history can be write and changed... It was one of the best experiences on a game from this generation.. |

Agreed.
But I still think it's awkward that they put up a big game-changing event like this, were alignment is key and we're not able to choose side yet.... Couldn't they wait for this?
But back again... it was really cool to see the crashed ship and all the dust (hehu) and debris. |
