While I _do_ appreciate the need for female players to have in-game avatars that match their... physical... characteristics, do keep in mind that the female inside the heavy suit does not have the same dimensions as... you...
The reason why they are considered a 'heavy' is due to the thickness of the armor rather than the flesh. |

The female scouts and assaults don't look like female soldiers clad in armour, they look like photo-shopped models clad in armour.
While this is fine and progressive in the context of gaming in general, it just feels out of place in the context of New Eden. I'm not saying that the way the female mercenaries look is sexist or anything like that, I'm saying their look is inconsistent and jarring. |

They don't look physically fit at all, they have nice breasts and huge bums with anorexic limbs and waist, they just look odd, everything is out of proportion.
I also think the male scout and assault suits look odd and out of proportion, too, but not to the extent that the female suits do and at least they look as if a soldier is occupying them. |

If their limbs and waist were just a bit thicker/more muscular I don't think I would have a problem, they'd look nice and proportional, more soldiery and more consistent with Dust's feel. I also think the male scout and assault suits look odd and out of proportion, too, but not to the extent that the female suits do and at least they almost look as if a soldier is occupying them. Proportion? Please, you act like military women have the figure of a man with slightly larger breasts. Not all women have a 'perfect' soldier proportion. What is a soldier proportion, anyway? If you wanted to be realistic, we should be able to design our character and have all the armor conform to our body perfectly, right? It might be worth noting that when I see a female merc in Dust 514, it takes a while for me to realize they are female, because honestly males and females look very much alike in Dust 514. They are a little skinnier with a larger chest, but other than that, almost identical.

Nope, military women tend to be fairly curvy, the dust 514 women do not look like military women, they're an odd combination of stick thin legs with a curvy bum and chest.
I'm certainly not arguing for them to look like men or to get rid of their breasts, I'm arguing for them to look like military women. They just feel out of place given how seriously the New Eden world takes itself otherwise.
Ideally, we'd be able to make our on characters in future and this'll all be moot.
Do they not look a bit scrawny for a soldier? http://cdn.dualshockers.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/female_mercs-660x371.jpg

a little scrawny, maybe, they could use a bit more muscle on those arms, as for the legs, and torso, not much more is needed there, i've met many carreer service women, they are actually rather compact in actual bodyshape, curves are there, but... uhm... i still go back to its the fact that Amarrians are religious prudes, and the Gallente is going to have much more.. erm.. form fitting looks, to come |

Look at the hands. A smaller frame is inside the larger armor. However, the armor does have to be form fitting or all of that weight will cut off blood flow.
From my wife: Binding is uncomfortable and reduces the ability to breathe, which is essential in a fight. But binding would result in a greatly reduced bust so as not to show through this thick armor.
HOWEVER! You can't use the Amarr as super religious, anti-femininity. Watch the opening video. I don't EVE, but assuming the girl with the coat open to her crotch shouting "But we have been blessed!" is the Amarr leader, your argument is incorrect. Generally, female run religions don't suppress female voice or shape. If I'm wrong, then may Amarr strike me down or something XD. |

Actually, Jamyl I is unusual on a number of fronts. For one thing, she is a capsuleer. For another thing, she is insane has another entity living inside her head.
It is also worth noting that Amarr prudishness is not a given, just the public face that everyone in the Empire wears. The previous PM was a grotesque, debauched monster in private but the soul of religious propriety in public. |

In a future of limitless technology, gene therapy, and advanced materials why would everyone go for looks and comfort? In a society that recognizes the differences between sexes - the benefits, the difficulties, and the overall uniqueness of each sex - yet affirms equality in all possible arenas a dropsuit that favors a woman's physique is not out of line.
In times past decorative female armor was made as was functional female armor. The same goes for our modern wares - granted there is less demand so i imagine less catering to the non-standard female warrior (seriously amazing in our century). This would in no way mean that we will not see further progression. The physics of a larger bust, less initially dense support behind the chest plate means nothing to our abilities to drape, wrap, bend, connects, mesh, and mold materials to whatever we desire and then bolt them to a support structure or something more solid. It is a non issue.
Heavy Suit females should have a representation of their sex. A larger bust vs the pot belly of a current heavy, a slight sloping waistline (as opposed to the brick wall of the current model), an altered waist drape for flare - symbolism or sexuality or not, etc. There are many changes that could be done... correction, that should be done.
In a future of equality why wouldn't we want he best of what the universe had to offer. (Personally I think it has to do more with the model and image wrapping used, like what has been mentioned, so it should be fixed eventually)

This is extremely upsetting!!! There's a female character in every suit except the heavy! Why should my boobs be left out when everyone else's are clearly visible? I realize that some excuse might be 'well the suit itself is big so your **** wouldn't show anyway.' I have no problem with the way the suit looks, except that I have no boobs; and I suppose that PERHAPS it would save time/money/whatever to have both the male heavy and female heavy look the same... BUT I WANT MY BOOBS!!!! As a male gamer, if there's ever an option for a female character, I take it (gotta show respect for all the women, because without them I would not be playing games). :DDD

In this case, it seems the gender of the person running the Empire has nothing to do with it. They repress sexuality in general. Jamyl gets a free pass because no one dares tell her what to wear. (and since she's a capsuleer she's going to hell anyway) |
