am I using the terminology correctly? It was a bunch of people who by faaaaaaar outgeared literally everyone on my team, fielded two tanks in the first minute of battle, redlined us, and then switched to adv/proto sniping suits. then kept calling in Orbital Strikes into our base. real classy.
That kind of **** makes me not want to play this game anymore. in EVE when I got killed by another player it was because I made a mistake that legally entitled them to kill me
"It's a space treasure chest, go on, open it, you look new and could therefore use it's contents more than I"
"golly gee wilikers mister, thanks! why did you just turn red? OHGODSTOPSHOOTING!"
and even then there was a way to gain retribution(my method was to go get my angry ship(amarr coercer) turn his little cronies into ash{they picked apart my ship after he blew it up}, and finally gather a small group of people who were really pissed at him, and blow his ass to bits. but leave him in his pod for a nice, slow flight home, so he could think about not pissing off someone with a vengeful streak.)
here my mistake was "existing". and the only retribution would be... oh wait, their guns are better than mine, I can't even put a dent in their shields with my rifle, and they have a tank on either hill, aimed at our spawns. so I literally have no option to fight back. I try to do some av, and I can't even hurt their tank with my militia swarms, I try to snipe, and I get one shotted by a tank, or return fire when my bullets ineffectually plink off their helmet.
Sorry you pubstompers aren't good enough to go and fight corp battles, or whatever it is where that kind of firepower is actually warranted.

Use this anger, feed on it. Sharpen your teeth on the bones of your enemies. Keep fighting. Refit to cheap gear if you have to, but keep fighting.
Take notes, learn something from each fight. Did your team have any uplinks deployed in this match for example. Adapt, have a fit ready to roll with uplinks, and try and keep at least 1 uplink active on the map somewhere. If your team has enough of these out they cannot be redlined, even if they lose all the control points.

Don't hate on the players hate on the game developers.
I have been on both sides of this issue and it sucks.
Redlining is boring for both sides.
If I get redlined within the first 2 mins of a match I farm SP/ ISK by running BPO suits and free LAV's. Or you could just sit in the MCC and go get some food, do a chore, troll these forums, come back in 10-15 mins and try it all over again.
Manus Peak map is the worst map for redline matches and IMO should be removed from the rotation, forever. |

Sounds typical. What else is there to do in DUST atm? It's all about ISK and SP, so yeah, pubstomping is about all the entertainment going around now.
Corp matches? lol. More like a gambling media than anything else atm, plus 8v8 has gotten stale months ago. |

Lol red-lining. It's a natural progression. If the enemy teamwork and assets suck so much arse, it's only natural for them to end up becoming red line. What is your team going to do? Let them hack a few points to keep it interesting? GoodGuyTeam thinks so.
I mean I understand the rage but when players have so much ISK and SP they'll throw about everything they have at you except the neck. If you're losing so bad you might as well just leave or start using your cheap/ZergRush Suits. :3 That's what I always do and I never spend more than the ISK I gain. |

Sometimes you are the Windshield, sometimes you are the Bug.
But dent 308 makes a good point about uplinks. I added a Militia BPO Drop Uplink to a copy of one of my starter suits. If I die it does not cost me anything. If I manage to get past the enemy front lines and drop an uplink, then I create a breach in their defences.
Sometimes the other team is not that much better than your team. If they get lucky and everything goes their way in the first 2 minutes of the match and they Redline you, then they have the tactical advantage and can hold you there for the rest of the match. But if you can get a Drop Uplink behind their lines then enough of your team can spawn there to take some objectives before the Red team has time to react. I have seen games where we were redlined completely shift and seen us win.
On the other hand I have also seen games where most of the other team are good experienced players and most of my team were inexperienced. Half the time I was picked off trying to cross enemy lines, and when I did get an uplink down our advance would be repelled and the drop uplink destroyed. Still, it is more fun trying to get a Drop Uplink into position rather than just trying to snipe ineffectively from the red zone. Not to mention the fact that you get +25 WP every time someone spawns. |

I think what he's getting at is the simple fact that the high SP well geared players know who is worth a sh$t and who isnt, yet insist on using their high end gear and calling out tanks and such vs 16 random pubs.
sure if theres an organized squad on the other side thats 1 thing, but I can see the OP point.
Personally, I only use higher end gear when there are organized squads on the other side... good chance to make some $ when its total randoms.
sorry to hear you got beat down by some kids that had rough childhoods getting their lunch money ganked from the class bully, and they are now taking out that aggression on you and other new players trying to get a grasp on this game :( |

MM should use SP & Squad size or this game's appeal will be limited as new players will ONLY have a harder and harder time trying to compete with vets as the SP gap increases.
Hopefully pub release will have MM with those abilities. |

This is exactly what's wrong with the Beta right now, among a host of other things.
People will sit here and try to argue otherwise, mostly because they want to feel as though they have skill, but the simple fact of the matter is that matchmaking is broken and only seems to pit highly uneven teams against each other.
Team A: 8+ players all with 3M+ SP and proto gear, in squads Team B: 1 or 2 players with 3M+ SP, no squads, the rest being blueberries fresh off the plant
Matchmaking: Sounds fair. |

I'd like to see multiple matchmakers that limits the meta level of the gear you can use. Give it a reason of solar system security status. That way if you join a higher isk paying game in a low sec/nullsec solar system, then you can expect that pub stomping will occur. |

I was in the only squad on the team. we got one order given the entire match, in the last 5 minutes, to go and recapture A. It went unheeded.
so we deserved to be curbstomped because we're newer in the game, and can't field tanks, and can't use high-level weapons and suits?

Yep, this describes about half the games at this point. The issue is that there is no matchmaking, which probably made sense in closed beta but not so much now.
On one hand, I find it both funny and sad to see the winning team not just dominating but going on to utterly humiliate the other side, with multiple high-level tanks, repeated orbital strikes and so forth. On the other hand, what else is there for them to do? It's boring no matter which side you're on. If you're losing, there's no reason to even spawn in, as you're just going to be fodder. If you're winning, there's nobody even on the field to fight most of the time, so you go looking for red dots just out of boredom.
In addition to matchmaking, there's a lot CCP could do to encourage and streamline team coordination. As it is, I never hear random team chatter -- I have literally heard it once. If you put everyone in a single team-wide chat channel automatically, which you can opt out of if you want to just talk to your squad, and switch it on by default, people will eventually start working together.
For the people who are all "lol your tears are delicious" -- if you actually want a challenge and a fun game, and not just mindless farming to get more SP and ISK which you can then spend on more farming, you should be encouraging ways to keep the other side in the game. I find it boring as he|| to be in a skirmish game where the other side is redlined and utterly squashed, there's nothing to do but kick them when they're down. I'm not interested in being a playground bully, what's the point? Any kind of competitive game, even if it means a mechanism of getting the other side back in the game, is better than a pubstomp. |

Too true, man. There're already enough hoops inexperienced players have to jump through to use voice commo in this game.
I would add the suggestion that CCP make it so when the Team channel closes at the end of the match, you return to whatever channel (Squad, Corp, etc) you were in before it put you in Team. Oh, and maybe keep Team open longer than it is currently, like until you leave the post-game score screens.

wait a minute:
so you're saying in order for the game to be successful we need to keep the people around who are least capable of playing it? you want to encourage the people to stay who the op herself said got redlined in no time at all? and THAT will make the game better somehow?
