While I give credit to CCP for finally getting rid of that trash spawn system I think this one is worse.
Things stand out to me that have to be corrected
-Being the random blue that spawns in middle of reds at beginning of match is **** please fix CCP
-Killing a group reds and they spawn right on top of you again
-Getting killed to just be spawned right back in group of reds that just killed you.
-I know maps are bad and getting changed but once players have figured out spawning in system they know where to be to force spawning. On the bowl map you can be at 3 points and force the reds to spawn out in open and be farmed
-Spawning in on in the middle of a gun fight and being farmed
I have to say this isn't about me QQing. Yes i have died less to spawn ins and thats a plus. I have just noticed that once we flip a spawn we basically just farm reds the rest of the match. Since the spawning mechanism puts a group of reds together to spawn its easier to spawn camp.
1)kill 2)Flip spawn 3)farm 4)Flip spawn 5)farm
I know this can't be fun and having been on the other side a few times its just brutal. When a match is 2 blobs moving around fighting each other I think its great. Once one of the teams gets spawn flipped it normally get onsided and ugly in a hurry.
The part I will QQ about is when I get spawned in on reds or reds get spawned in on me. This happens a lot on plateau map. Its a big enough map that we shouldn't be spawning in all around the center of it.
I feel like I am dying much more to the spawning mechanics now then before. While I don't die in the start of the match now I die more because of the spawning. Old spawn system you would get one red to spawn in on you and you had a chance. Now you will get a group of reds. I have been on the other side too and spawned in behind a group of reds and and killed 5 with a nade.
The spawning direction is better but now game play is more centered around tatically controlling spawn points. Frankly, I think we want a real ambush game mode not called Spawn Control.
Last thing if I used aurum gear (and I don't) I would be pissed the **** off if ccp gave us this spawn system. Dying to something like the above would make me ask for a aurum refund. It's not a player controlled action or game play. If ccp spawns you in middle of reds I don't think ccp allowed for fair use of your aurum gear.
CCP said starting last summer "spawns are fine, use uplinks" and didn't do much if anything to improve the spawning till recently. Sometimes effort is there but the results are not. At this rate of improvement it will be in beta for another 2 years.

I think it's fine... until I die and proceed to rack up 5+ deaths in the span of a minute I'll just spawn in a starter fit after the second death and/or hold off until the voice forces me to spawn back in. |

Ya an orbitals are just devastating now when you have their whole team spawning in a cluster.
It is a good spawn mechanism in the beginning, not sure why those lone blues get spawned in the mist of reds but I think that can get ironed out.
It is this same mechanic that later on in the game is easily exploited. A tank can sit at a known spawn point, the rest of the team goes around the field killing reds and at some point the red team spawn right in front of the tank and gets ripped apart.
Once the game has started the old system of random spawning would be a little better but I think a good fix would be spawning with your team but in a lot wider of an area. I have come across mercs spawning on top of eachother and takes no skill to get 3-5 kills immediately. When you spawn as a team mercs should spawn in a curtain radius (30 m?) and spawn on different heights not all on the ground.
Spawns are better but not at all what is needed. |

I like hows its been going now with the new spawns, though i no longer get to surprise a couple of reds spawning in with me, i also no longer get to spawn 4-5 times right next to a dedicated 4 man squad.
Also the "rolling" factor of a 4 man teams power seem to be way down, before: 4 man come across 1 lonely spawned guy = win, or the guy could escape only to run into a freshly spawned red now they have to face an entire blob, and sure sometimes you get rolled still.
I have to use about 50% awareness now because odds are there is none freshly spawned in behind me right now unless we flip the spawn.
I agree though on orbitals and 3+ tanks on the map with nowhere to go, thats painfull. But i guess droplinks would come in handy.
Overall since i play solo, i die allot less from squads & surprise i spawned right behind you. |

I think they working fine. I was in few EPIC battles yesterday, with both teams fighting to control the center of the map. And few other battles, with a team holding the high ground, and the other team trying to push them out. VERY FUN.
If anything i will say, that the Orbital strikes needs to be restricted a bit. Maybe just one per team for the full battle. |

Oh Noes! My KDR! I have had no problem so far myself. It DOES get us really close to intense firefights, but I have not died while spawning so far.
On skim junction, there was a huge firefight the entire ambush round in the center structure right across from the supply depot. Most people spawned a bit away from the "front" though they might have died to flanking maneuvers. |

While it is an improvement (being able to have your entire squad spawn at the same place almost all the time), and it does result in some epic firefights, as the battle drags on it does seem that the entire fight gets stuck in 1 small area of the map. I thought this new system was supposed to take into account the location of both enemies and allies, and assess the threat levels of those enemies? If there are too many, it should start spawning you away from the massed firefights, to somewhere where there is no action at all, with no enemies around you, but it doesn't seem as if it is.
All it seems to be doing now is the "spawn teammates together" part, and ignoring the "spawn people away from foes" part. |

I thought there was a post from a Dev where we were supposed to respond. However, I cannot find it so I will join this one.
I like the new version. Yeah you can still get swamped with Reds. Most of the time you can at least have a chance to connect with your Squad and/or the Blues.
I really, really liked Skim Junction OMS. What a riot. Very intense fire fights as one side tries to pin the group inside down while they inside group works at protecting the entrances. I told some of my friends and, of course, when we played we got Line Harvest which we have played many times before. I checked yesterday (3/2/2013) and they had gotten to play on it. They enjoyed it as much as I did. Good job adding Skim Junction OMS to the maps. |

when i was in an ambush game, i stopped to look at the map and noticed two teammates surrounded by a sea of red. unless they jumped out of a dropship that i couldn't see, i think they spawned there in the red zone.
i've been spawned about 100 meters in the red zone a few times i was put next to a rampaging enemy squad of heavies.
personally, i liked the old spawns better |

I tend to do my first spawn with an fully BPO equiped fitting. Run for a secure location and place an uplink. Thats all about it mercs. After that one just needs to hold the ground. HTFU and make use of your resources. Adapt to the battlefield rather than wait for the battle field to adapt to you! |

However the new system works great some of the time. The other times its worse than before. And orbitals now average 10+ kills that's a problem.

Sky spawning will never work as longs as inertia dropping works the way it does. The moment you land on the ground you become a free kill when inertia dropping. ( i don't think you should get invincibility either when inertia dropping. |

My kdr is fine and it keeps going up.
If you really read my post you will see I say this makes it easier for me to farm dumb ass. So for my kdr this new spawning system is awesome. So yeah I am here to say there is some improvement but here is whats broke. I die less at start and less to the other team shooting me in a gun fight. I die more by being spawned on by red groups at random and get it death loops where i spawn over and over again into red blobs.
My problem is I want to play ambush and have good fights I dont want to this game mode to be about camping and fliping spawns.

of course i'm on the other side of the equation. my k/d ratio is going down because i keep spawning next to 5 reds at the start of the match. and yes, it is pissing me off.
...especially when i'm used to killing that poor unfortunate red that would spawn next to me in the old system.
it's gotten to the point now that if i see a red spawn in front of me, i won't even shoot him. i will just turn and run as fast as i can. not because i'm afraid of him. but because i know the game is going to spawn 5 of his buddies around his ass. |

There is simply too much weight put on spawning near your squad/teammates. The coefficient they are using for this variable completely dominates any weight they place on not spawning near enemies. These weightings should be flipped.
1) Don't spawn near enemies 2) If squad/teammates are near a spawn point that is far enough from enemies, spawn there 3) Otherwise, spawn at the safest point considering enemy locations
I think this would fix a lot of these problems... |

also, i'm sure tankers like zdowwwg are orgasming every other match. when they can lock down a cru and know that even if someone chooses NOT to spawn on it, they will still be locked into their neutron blaster death trap.
when i press R on my keyboard to respawn i expect that to be RANDOM dammit.
we played against a stacked team and zdog they knew the spawns and wrecked us. Like I said all you have to know is how the spawning works on a map and its over. I think we got 5 kills that match. The reds and zdog just camped the spawn areas. I'm not QQing about that because 95% of the time I am doing the camping.
as for the rest yeah you see the same thing I do |

Yeah the new spawning mechanics are not much better than the spawning before, in fact some cases worse (instead of possibly having one or two reds spawn near me, now a whole gaggle of them spawn near me if I happen to be a little ways away from the main blob of blueberries).
I also find myself dying more often than I would previously, and the amount of one-sided matches is significantly worse than it was before. I am seeing a lot more steamroll matches in which the losing sides best player gets about 300 WP and is 3/5, while the winning sides top 5 players are all x-0 with WP numbering in the thousands.
I have been on both sides of this, and while this happened before, now it is almost impossible to get away from the clump of players to try to make a positive game out of a steamroll. Cause before I could go hunt players on the outer rim of the map and stay away from the chaos zone, can't do that anymore before if I see a red by themselves, then that means there is about 10 others coming in behind him or spawning near him.
Not to mention orbitals now are pretty much a death sentence for the entire team, saw an orbital last night which gave some dude about 11 kills. |
