it's gonna be the same here as it is over there.

problem is: the folks over there know what they are doing. and EvE is hard. like so much harder then this game as to almost be a different species.

over here, every codboi knows how to pick up a gun, although most can't tell which end of the gun that the bullet comes out of.

except that's all they know. decades of gaming and folks are still clueless. but you want them to have their backs patted and give them praise just for showing up?

most of the folks you're trying to protect will eventually become the same trolls you're complaining about.

All joking aside the DUST community active on the forums is still really small and mostly new. We have an opportunity to help shape what the forums become, what kind of things the community finds acceptable on the forums.

To anyone wondering, the OP is the same guy that said DUST 514 wasn't a First Person Shooter.

The reason he got trolled into the ground was because he refused to listen to any viewpoints other than his own and had absolutely nothing to back up his own argument.

Surprise surprise, crap like that makes it so people don't take you seriously.

he;s right tho some ppl will be laughed out of new eden, other new ppl have a thick skin/sense of humor and will be able to laugh at themselves, which the establish trolls will embrace. the problem with coddling and grooming noobs is it all goes to their head. they think they know more than the vets, they got something to prove to everyone, any compliment you give them goes to their head, at least from my experience on the mic, so instead they are trolled to keep their minds corralled.

Right. CoD and BF and Halo, made them...So soft, they can't even take a joke at their own expense. Even worse they feel like they shouldn't HAVE to take said joke at their own expense, and would rather rant, and cry on forums. When I saw people hating on the fact that DUST 514 was going to be on console as opposed to PC I thought they were just being PC elitists (most were) but now I see that a lot of the console gamers can't even handle it. A lot (not all) of us can't even take jokes or even sharpen our tongues to have a back and forth banter with people without QQ-ing. Maybe, just maybe, the console gamers aren't mature enough to be a part of New Eden yet. I hope someone can prove me wrong...But I don't know...
