All joking aside the DUST community active on the forums is still really small and mostly new. We have an opportunity to help shape what the forums become, what kind of things the community finds acceptable on the forums.

I hear that, my day isn't complete until I make some one cry on the internet.

Trolling is important, and a time honored tradition of game forums.
I do help new players. And troll into the ground the downright stupid, or bad posts.

If i troll someone and it makes them actually think about what they've said, so be it.

Everyone is too damn soft these days. I hate censorship. Forum censorship is the lowest of the low. Words cannot do any damage unless you let them. People take offense at anything these days, it's becoming almost impossible to communicate without some spineless fktard whining about some shizl.

You guys need to stop treating everyone as trespassers in your little GÇ£BubbleGÇ¥, your imaginary world where everything is Role Play, and just plaint stupidity. New people have no idea of you little manufactured world, they don't understand you politics, and GÇ£TrollingGÇ¥ culture. New people is just going to see you like spoiled brats, and unhelpful trolls. That will damage CCP a lot in the long term.

Start been helpful to newcomers, make them feel at home. Explain to new people GÇ£whyGÇ¥ they are wrong, don't insult them because they don't understand how things work in EvE.

Do all that, and the community will became an enjoyable place to be. That will help CCP, and every one else.

I highly agree, this whole culture of "lol htfu newberry" makes people not want to play the game. The game being confusing right off the bat is enough of a turn off to most players, but when actual players come in and are like, "OMGZ, TANKS ARE SO OP" "LOL HTFU NEWBERRY" "CCP PLZ FIX", it makes people want to quit the game right then and there.

Now what allows me to assume that this is true for most people who try it out? I introduced all of my gamer friends to Dust, who are all relatively experienced and chill gamers, and once we get past the learning curve of, "What am I doing here?", they saw the way other players acted on the forums and in game, and immediately quit. They think it's a cool concept, but with no way to regulate matchmaking between who's skilled and who isn't, not to mention the childlike behavior of most players, they don't want to play and go back to PlanetSide 2.

We need to start reaching out to new players and helping them out, rather than waiting for them to ask questions of their own accord, because most will not, and those that do get swamped with ridiculous answers that don't answer anything. Let's actually work to fix this, eh?
