This is paying to negate spending well in excess of 1 million SP. I DO NOT approve. I will be buying 40, and I will use these 40 to grief as many newberries as possible in the hopes that their cries of anguish will perk up CCP's ears.

This is true. I think my frustration with it is because at the moment, if you're properly spent you skill points, its unlikely that you'll have enough SP for a Proto suit at this time. Because of this, many of people in the tournament now feel obligated to buy these just to compete because the assumption is that the other side will do the same.
This is an issue because at the moment, for most people, AUR is the only way to get a Proto suit. If CCP had done this 6 months down the line I would not mind at all...but right now those suits are Pay2Win I'm afraid. Honestly I almost want to feel like this is a opportunistic ploy by CCP to cash out of the current tournament by releasing these things right before the second half...but I was never one to cling to conspiracy theories. |

Meh... in a month or so, everyone that started day one will run proto something in ISK. I'd say CCP's move could have been better in a week or two. So maybe a newbie could easily reach out to those suits and fill CCP's pocket.
The idea of proto AUR suit aint stupid. But i agree with what i red before : Should be LVL 4. And probably should have been added a bit later. |

two levels early is too much, these should come at level 4 not three. Also again this all gets fixed with the release of the player market, but that said proto means nothing when you get at 3 thats just ******* stupid. |

Its the age-old debate in the F2P world: Time vs. Money.
Is everyone in an uproar because its now a proto suit available for AUR? Because there have been "Neo" A-Series suits on the market for a while, and I have not seen one complaint about those suits. Other than it should have been available at lvl 4, I don't seen anything wrong with it as it seems to keep in line with all of the other AUR items CCP has put on the market.

Type-II > vk0.
I would agree it's p2w if vk1's were AUR, but vk0's are garbage. If somebody wants to waste AUR on that crap suit, then so be it, but they can get owned 10x's over by a type-II, and 20x's over by a type-B.
Armor based suits in this game are the red-headed step-child of Dust. |
