Sad to see the proto is easy to aquire now. There will no longer be fear in seeing a black suit, no excitment in destroying them and worst of all no satisfaction in "earning" one. I tip my hat to all those who have ligitimatly earned your right to use them so far, be proud to say you were the orginal protobears because now games will be crowded with pay to win VK0's. I speak for all of us when i say, we are stripped of our scence of pride for achiving in Dust 514 :( |

only the vk.0 is AUR the vk.1 is still isk/sp
the vk.0 is just a B suit with expanded pg/cpu
you still have to get the "best suit" with isk/sp
the vk.0 aurum suit is second best on paper |

it is JUST the second best in the entire game. not a strong argument |

Ya it is kind of a bummer right now, maybe they will take them off after awhile, or not. Id rather them waist their AUR on temporary equips instead of boosters. And we all know how the game shows went, those people had Proto suits, AND maxed skills.
Im not worried, and anyone else in UnReaL shouldnt be worried, we are good enough as it is and a few scrubs running around with proto suits isnt going to change much... might get some more colorful hate mail but thats about it.
This isnt even the worst of it though. Sometime in the future you will be able to buy entire Skill Clusters. |

Type-I > A-Series > vK.0 Type-II > B-Series > vK.1
That's the linear progression of suits. TBH, while I agree with the consensus that it should be a lvl 4 skill to get AUR protosuits, I really don't care if somebody wants to spend AUR on suits, because that is a more permanent loss that some ISK you can grind out of pubs every time you die. |

the guy who grinds for the suit is going to be a better player at the game than the guy who buys aurum because he actually played more, so i dont see what the big deal is, the bad players are given a chance to buy with real money because they lost too many and can't afford the isk ones, but is not like that vk.0 aurum suit is going to carry them thru their match |

So you only need to be L3 to get a L5 suit?
Not sure how I feel about that. I Have no issues with paying to get one level up... but to get two levels up that is a bit too much in my own opinion. |

I agree with most people here to move the requested level to 4 instead of 3... it's way too easy to obtain, I have no problems by having a proto AUR suit but the required level is the main issue, but I have to say that it's a VK 0 suit after all... for me the VK 1 will be always the best and my goal is to get it. |

having actually earned my protobear suit; this does kind of suck. Granted it was fun killing some people today wearing them, so ehh.
However, don't knock the Vk.0 ; as it can be deadly if used in right situation |

Actually it's not pay-for-advantage.
It's pay-to-have-it-sooner-even-though-you-will-eventually-get-to-level-5-suit-anyways-which-then-makes-your-aurum-proto-pointless-to-own. |

if its basen on skill i does need ot be lvl 4 to use proto, since we have to be lvl 5. Also, they are too cheap, even the isk ones, CCP make everything expensive again, if you have the original 4 militia suits, you will need no safe neet for you expenses. |

Now lets say you die on average twice per game. You play 3 games a day. How you die can be anything from Tactical strikes, shotgun to the face, Remote explosive, you get the drift.
what you get is: 2(you die)*3(number of games)*7(one week)*4(month)+12(the days you miss in a full month) =
180(Proto's)*160(AUR price)
Total of 28800 AUR per month.
I am more happy to put my points in to boosters. Am here for the long run. |

If that proto suit did more damage or had better stats than isk variant of the same suit then it would be pay to win. Otherwise, please stop calling it pay to win and get your SP quicker for your lvl 5 proto and enjoy the free game. |

Are you kidding? Man in a year or 2 people are going to buy a account if they want to get ahead with 0 effort. That is life. Its against CCP's rules and I am not condoning it but its going to happen. Get your head out of the sand. if anything this helps CCP get money instead of account traders and Chinese farmers, so I support it. |

Paying for an advantage apparently isn't paying to win?
I've played many Pay 2 Win games in my past, coming from free PC FPS games it was a very big thing... Let me tell you, in non of them did you simply buy an item with real money just to automatically get a "you win" message. Skill has always played a part in it, however, by paying real money you would gain a distinct advantage over other players who didn't. That's what made them pay to win.
That being said, by making it so that people only need to get dropsuit to level 3 for prototype suits, they're saving about 2 million SP that could be spent in other areas instead... giving them quite an advantage over other players who are aiming for their prototype suits by reaching level 5.
One level difference didn't bug me much, and especially since most skills don't have a multiplier of 12x.... However, with this it seems a bit lame. I have plenty of AUR to spend and could jump on the bandwagon but I feel I can still compete well enough in my B-series and have no problem waiting; however people claiming that pay for an advantage is not pay to win is confusing me and thought I would give my input on the subject.
I'd rather put my point into boosters because bad players in proto suits are still manageable enough, and (at least today) I didn't run into too many prototype suits. Should be able to be in mine within a few days without having to spend a lot of AUR for it, and in my shield variant. :D |
