I found this - a complete list of all ps4 third party developers and publishers. And... sorry to say this, but there is no CCP on the list.
EDIT: new sourse http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/news/20130221E.pdf you can see it's from sony.net No CCP still.
A lot of Mercs are saying that this is not oficial, and this doesn't mean anything, so judge for your self what is true, and what is not. |

Do you see Bungie on that list? no you dont. So if bungie is making Destiny for the ps4 and was AT the PS4 launch why are then not on the list?!
Because if your already doing development on the ps3 you dont have to have your name in for ps4 development. Sony is not restricting companies from porting from ps3 to 4 for games in dev.
Activision Publishing, Inc. bungies publisher is on the list but for a Lab Zero, Inc game. But no bungie? so its not a complete list now is it? |

It's evidence that nothing's been decided for ps4 launch at this point I'd say. Not to say that it won't, or that it will. But that at this time ccp has not said they they either want to/will have a title ready for ps4 launch.
Or that they're not a big enough name to include....
But some of them iv bever heard of, so I hope that's not the case |

It is Activision who publishes the game Bungie produces. Rockstar isn't on the list either, because they are part of Take-Two Interactive, EA sports nor EA Big are on the list either, but I do think Fifa 1x will be on the PS4, they're listed as their Publishing Company Electronic Arts Inc. I think they took a bit of creative liberty to shorten it a bit, else they would need to list all studios producing stuff for it, and than it's gonna be too long of a list.
Yet CCP is an independent Production and Publishing company, so yes, me too was a bit surprised to see CCP missing on the list. |

It states its a List of Third Party Game Developers and Publishers, and as such its missing a bunch of developers that dont fit that statement, because DUST 514 could be considered 2nd or 1st party published or even a independent developer as it is being developed as an exclusive PlayStation title. Case closed no matter how you cut it. It is not a complete list.

since CCP already published stuff on the PC and even has a boardgame it's no second party developer and since last time I heard CCP was not bought by Sony it's not an First Party either.
CCP could be considered an Indie developer although CCP is owned by 2 investment companies, so they're not that independent anymore. I think the only way to get Dust on the PS4 is by the use of streaming, unless CCP has something nice to say. |

Streaming is certainly an option, but I'm sure their goal is to get it working natively on the hardware.
As for that list, lol no. That is not an end all list, period. |

this game will be easy to port from 1 playstation platform to the next, im sure the playstation OS will have a certain amount of backwards compatibility. The only thing i would worry about is still using the same game engine for the next 5 years, prepare to look at mud and crappy polygon counts mean while the unreal 5 engine comes out and has nut busting particle effects. |

yes, but how many playstation games has CCP finished yet? -none. it's not a surpise that CCP wasn't on the list of developers because they haven't finished developing their first game for the PS3 yet.
also, it's not a full list, it's a powerpoint slide. Q-Games isn't on the list either but i'm pretty sure there will be pixeljunk games on the PS4.
--final edit-- what we should be happy about is the unreal4 tech demo. THAT says more about porting Dust514 to the PS4 than anything else. |

Patience is a virtue seemingly lost on some people here as is sense. Why would they start developing a ps4 port of a game that hasn't even fully launched on the ps3. And that's if they even intend to do it anyway... |

They stated in the the event that there is no backward compatibility at all, that's direct compatibility, I think the streaming is the exception, and they way they will do it.
Also I can almost guarantee that CCP are working on the PS4 version, they have stated many times that they have a 10 year plan for Dust, there is no way that a game could stay competitive on a 16 year old platform. Given CCP's track record for amazing visuals and pushing the boundaries, I'd say that's a strong case for a YES |

EVE Online has changed game engine completely over 10 years, so it will be no exception for Dust |

this thread is a waste of space, ccp can choose to jump in when their ready right now they have the ps3 version to work on. when there are enough of an install base in ps4 then they can consider the upgrade. EVE didnt make super leaps in upgrades throughout its 10yrs why start work on something that has no population yet.
the game will be there on psn day one the upgrade will come down the road. |

Thanks friend, I had no idea.........
My point was, ccp isn't exactly namco or sega. My next point was that iv never heard of some of them, thus although lots of people are like ccp who? They likely won't have heard of nixxes or genki. Cos I never have.
Thanks for the trade secret tho, mums the word |

Dear original poster,
I don't see this as an official source. Sony has screwed up on marketing on several occasions. For example: Sony once announced that the DUST 514 game would be coming out on October 2012. CCP proved them wrong when they announced that wasn't happening. Sony also accidentally implied that the October release was a complete game by failing to mention it was just getting updated. Then CCP announced that the official release would most likely be during the summer of 2013 which is shortly after fanfest.
Therefore I would rather hear it from CCP directly about the PS4 port than to hear it from someone whose information is not even from CCP. |

list currently developing.
CCP is making ps3 game at moment. They need to get ps3 out of beta before starting port.
Depending on difficulty(unreal 3 to x86 used by pc should be pretty easy, since engine was ported to ps3 from x86 originally) they might have port done by ps4 launch. Say they get game finished enough to loose beta status late summer, few months to do port and a small expansion for winter.
So, it could be out on ps4 at launch but not be in development for ps4 yet, or they may start ps4 port a year or two from now.
Even if twitter post is 100% accurate it would not mean no dust on ps4 eventually, and it may not be accurate anyway.

All this proves is that Sony hasn't put CCP's name on a list. That could be for any number of reasons, and it's completely pointless to speculate (maybe CCP didn't want it on there, maybe Sony didn't want it on there, maybe Sony just didn't check to see whether CCP wanted it on there and thought it's better safe than sorry, maybe CCP doesn't want to jump the gun and make people expect a release, maybe CCP wants to play safe and see how Dust pans out on the PS3 before making any kind of announcement about the PS4, maybe Sony wants to play it safe before they commit to distributing it on the PS4, etc., etc., etc.).
It's been expressed that CCP intends for Dust to work on the next generation of Playstation consoles. Barring any unforeseen problems, I expect it will be on the PS4. |
