Nakaya is a Japanese name with the derivative of yonaka witch is midnight in japanese. And Indigene is the singular word for indigenous. as in the Indie (original) Gene(genetics) midnight0587 is my eve primary.
Midnight and Nakaya found themselves in new eden as clones separated from the milky way galaxy. They share identical genes. Nakaya is the indigene clone. Midnight was merely a copy, but had his conscious reset.
They were discovered by the jove in a abandoned freighter. The jove force activated the midnight and nakaya clones. The consciousness between the two clones were already separate. they parted ways with the jove. midnight went on to become a pod pilot right away. nakaya waited 4 1/2 years before he became a dust merc. |

This was (and still kind of is) my dad's nickname because he works at a prison here in town and was respected for "dropping the hammer," if you will.
So I decided to adopt it and carry it on.
wasn't that one of the countries we germans smooshed under the tigers treads back in the 40'S?

Anax in ancient Greek meant "king" or "leader", which couldn't be further from any word anyone would use to describe me.
The funniest bit is that I'm Greek and yet I only found out what Anax meant more than half a decade after getting it as my nickname! To me it was just a meaningless sound that referred to myself -- a short form of the short form of a nickname I'd made over a decade ago, with both short forms created by online friends. Coincidences are funny like, sometimes. |

I tried to make the name sound like Mintatar - definately my favorite race. I don't think I really nailed it though, but I guess it's fine. |

Inspired by comedian mitch hedburgs' bit about the number 13. ( "Hotels don't have a 13th floor because its unlucky. But come on. People on the 14th floor, you know what floor your really on. If the number 13 is unlucky so should the letter B, because it looks like a scrunched together 13. "whats your name" "Bob" "get the F---- away!" ) The first time the name was used was for a undead warrior in Warcraft, it seemed fitting and has stuck ever since. |

Reminds me of a joke about Scotsmen and kilts..
My "main" is after a Neil Young song that has been covered fantastically by Grace Potter and a troupe of some of the best musicians around, including Joe Satriani. The story is about a Conquistador, Hernan Cortez.
Many other characters are named usually with some quasi tongue-in-cheek relation to what they do, f.ex. Roto-zip for my HMG guy, or some variation of ***** for the unsavory character types like sniper, et al. Zen Hyabusa is a vehicles guy, a variation derived from the Japanese for Perigrine Falcon, and a crazy fast Suzuki motorcycle. Wicked Stitches is a combat medic, and so on.

Melleth is also my EVE name. (Just Melleth)
Long time ago, back when I played World of Warcraft, I used to write stories in the WoW universe (like WoW fan-fics) on my guild's forum. One of the characters was Melleth, a paladin, and his name is supposed to remind of Mallet (because paladins usually use war-hammers in the Warcraft universe) I liked the name a lot and started using it in games and such.
As for Lethian, it's the name of the main character in a series of novels I've been writing for the past years.

Lin Alvarin was my name in EVE. Decided to maintain the identity since DUST is now my EVE, so I kept the last name and game myself a new first name (Pronounced Shy-Ear or Sheer depending on accent.)
The "Sheer" pronunciation comes from EVE's learning cliff, as well as my own playstyle. I'm either -really- good, or exceptionally bad. I don't really have a middle ground. I get more questions and accusations about my corp name being stolen from other corporations than I do my character name. |
