Due to Equal Opportunity Act the side you may wind up on may not be the one you intend. Command shares your frustration but the nearly 100 year old Yulai Convention is not exactly worded for the immortal soldiers as personnel; rather the convention considers us pieces of equipment under current wording. So until amendments are made to it to consider us non-equipment and actual personnel we're lumped in the same category as technology and thus any 'technological advantage' of one empire must be made available to all other empires by either providing the technology outright or sharing the information that lead to its creation.

Interesting. Somehow I don't expect as much of a massive effort to make the Bragian Order lose this time. It seems like the reason we all rallied to curbstomp them last time was because it was our own survival that mattered, but here I can see a lot there's much less personal interest for us mercs, so i could just all be about the money.
Of course, as a Gallente with no love for the Order OR the Amarr, I will be proceeding to kick them in the teeth. Repeatedly. |

But you are playing Eve. They are one universe. Yes, in the future these events wll have more impact for both games, will you continue to whine then? Or are you only going to care when they give you a shiny new suit for a reward?
You are a part of New Eden, part of the point of Dust and Eve is to impact a larger universe in a meaningful way. It's not supposed to be just run around shooty shooty, flying spaceships pew pew, actions have consequences, and the things that players do, all players, alter the course of the entire universe.
But if you don't care then don't play the battles and miss half the content, but stop whining about it in here. |

Was this something just anybody could participate in? I imagine so but just want to be sure; if so I wish there was some sort of notification in game. I haven't bothered to check the other merc & corp tabs because there's never anything in them when I do (of course I know the corp tab is reserved for actual corps). Guess I'll have to play less and check the forum more if I want in on this stuff. |

Well, I stayed up for an hour to play. It's small-map ambush.
Some guys from STB kept spawning in Madrugars, but at least when I was with them on the BO side, I did some sandbagging. I wasn't being too effective at that in one battle, so I sat on top of the tank meleeing it.
I hate to say it, but thus far, I think those lunatic Amarr and their Caldari lackeys might be winning. 
Now I must try to sleep, knowing that the ancient oppressors are trying to commit genocide against the Starkmanir... Again.

We were pushing this event for West Coast US players. CCP Falcon was basically in work for 24 hours the past day, coming in for his regular work at 9 AM to 5 PM, then doing some GM overtime from 5 to roughly 10:30, then running an EVE Live Event from around 10:30 to 12:30, then doing more GM overtime until 4 AM, then running DUST battles from 4 AM to 8 AM. He's still in the office and I'm not sure why. He may be like a dolphin who allows half his brain to sleep at a time.
Also, here are things that we are working on but I have no full timetable on which will make things so much more awesome for these Live Events:
1) The ability to actually choose your side in these matches.
2) In-game news feeds so we can put out actual news posts about the events rather than relying on the forums as we do now. |

Oh nice.. It was a lot of pain having to look at the loading screen repeatedly while trying to actually join the side my friends and I wanted.. Also I was  for Blood Raiders.. The Sappers disappeared  |

I know who the **** cares. More than three quarters of the EvE population and then some of the Dust. You better HTFU because EvE and Dust are a two in one game combo and when the merge is complete the amount of RP you see will be amplified greatly. Think of it as EvE being so big that to keep it that way they need to divide it into two games.
You're not the center of the world and CCP doesn't care about an opinion like this especially if it's from a self centered brat that thinks everybody has the same interests as him/her. CCP Eterne speculated that you might be able to rest half of your brain at a time, allowing you to pull these 24+ hour shifts.
Can you confirm?
If so, how do you do it? I bet you could make a killing helping the rest of us learn how to play Dust & EVE all night and still work in the morning. |

Personally participated in six defensive actions on behalf of the colonists, and managed to turn away several infantry advances and armor incursions, thereby protecting the most vital parts of the colony. It seemed like the majority of the battles were in favor of the Sappers, though I cannot be sure. I was forced to stop fighting because of mental fatigue, which apparently results from constant cloning. Hopefully the Starkmanir colony managed to survive. They deserve a second chance after what the Amarr have done to them. |
