I can think of a slew of insults that are derived from relation to people's sexuality or history. Let's see how many are sensored on here? (*****, bastard, pecker, bugger, pissant, ****, prick, ****, *****, ****, dork)...  I don't see an army of them lobbying schools and political parties. I would be genuinely surprised if they did, and they would be mocked outright. I'm not condoning such intellectual absence displayed in the offending comment, but I don't see the OP's screenshot as all that upsetting. This strikes me as a case of the overly sensitive, and in denial of the reality of people's different opinions and use of language. The person obviously was not insulting gay people, but utilizing an underlying bias about gay people to insult another. In this case, my advice is to care less about what other people think and be yourself before God and Country. |
