What weapon does everyone think has the biggest learning curve? I'm talking about a weapon that is absolutely worthless in the hands of someone with no experience using it, but is extremely deadly after TONS of practice- and I don't mean after tons of SP.
I think it would be the breach mass driver. Low splash damage and splash radius, short range firing arc, and low RoF. You have to hit someone directly to do real damage. However, when you DO hit someone directly, the damage is insane. |

I'd also like to give burst assault another try. Had a hard time with it. |

Perhaps the laser rifles, the damage over time mechanic isn't really easy to master. Mass drivers are basically grenade launchers, but they're quite difficult to learn aswell. |

LR's aren't that hard really, the main difficulty is making sure you keep people in your optimum range. I still can't get the hang of the MD though, so I would say the MD |

I've used everyweapon or at least tried them for last year and the ones i hate are the Scrambler pistol, LR, MD.
I mean i sucked "donkey farts" (fit in a name drop) B@lls with these and to the day i use Smg b4 a pistol and or no sidearm. LOL
+1 on Sleepy's comment 2 i tried Nano knife's on an alt 2 build ago and thought they sucked. But was better as scout with speed mods, and knives skilled up, then a shotty IMO.. Was perty deadly then, now i think they suck or at least ive herd they do. ![Pirate](https://forums.dust514.com/Images/Emoticons/ccp_pirate.png) ![Idea](https://forums.dust514.com/Images/Emoticons/ccp_idea.png) |

Hope you all noticed the pistol was totally changed this build. It used to be a long range weapon. This build they totally changed it to a short range smg variant. I agree this weapon is rough to be effective with but those few players who are...are deadly. The LR is rough to because of always keeping your enemies in the "damage zone". Good lasers are always feared. Mainly because elite players can die quick if the situation is right. |

Sniper rifle has a very low skill ceiling. You put the dot over the target and pull the trigger. The rest is fairly basic and can be summarized as "don't get shot by other snipers".
Sleepy Zan is one of the few people who run around with a sniper rifle rather than camp with one, so he's somewhat distinct from the legions of hill snipers (or at least distinct on these forums), but that doesn't mean he's being a more effective sniper as a result. Lot's of snipers kill lot's of people per game, and perhaps contribute more to their team than Sleepy Zan or whoever else does. |

I will put this debate to rest by stating that Nova Knives are the one set of weapons that have the steepest learning curve. I know from experience.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1O4ruExpWeX7o6mvdItH-iGIkiqa3Qxf5kPNwEorHa4E/edit?usp=sharing
Note: CCP stated they are planning on allowing nova knife users to sprint with the charge still on. In the meantime, you can do that now via a melee glitch which basically you immediately start and hold the charge while in the process of meleeing. It will stay charged no matter how many times you sprint and stop until you release it. This made me extremely aggressive. It allowed me to see how practical the knife can truly be if sprinting while charging was allowed. |

never tried nova knives, but I'd think they'd be difficult. almost positive they take the cake. I await the "nerf heavys using NK's" thread.
MD's have a bit of a curve, but are always effective.
my original thought (didn't think about NK) was the FG. FG's are fun, but MLT is slower than molasses, so if you miss, it's either swap to side, or give up, lol. |

Going to go with laser rifle. After years of CS I'm pretty native with all guns, but damn it's hard when you can't burst fire and hide efficiently.
All weapons have pretty much unlimited skill cap. Scrambler pistols require headshots, then again all guns work nice if you hit the head.
So, hardest to get decent = laser, Second hardest scrambler pistol.
Sniper rifles just require a proper setup to ease the whack-a-mole and to differentiate the head pixel. Without a 27" monitor and razer mouse desktop setup, I would prolly hit nothing. |

MD's have a bit of a curve, but are always effective.
my original thought (didn't think about NK) was the FG. FG's are fun, but MLT is slower than molasses, so if you miss, it's either swap to side, or give up, lol. I'm saying BREACH MDs- these things have next no no splash damage and a tiny splash radius. Only option is to try getting a direct hit. |
